10 Min to West Jefferson, mountain views, overlooks New River, Hot tub with a view, Fire pit, Gated home, 2 Gas fireplaces, one electric, Poker table/game room, Plenty of parking, second kitchen downstairs, 6 TV's. Close to outfitters for Canoe, Kayaks and Zip lines.
Basketball and Corn Hole games! Inside board games. Weather station. Air hockey table. 4 bedroom 3 1/2 bath, 3000 sq ft house. Sleeps 10

We have Cherry floors and that is why we have the weight limit for dogs! Their nails do a number on them! Also the garage and a closet upstairs is the owners closet so it is locked and off limits!

It is a 10 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance! Definitely take a drive along the BRP! Great hiking and waterfalls. Also check out Mt Jefferson state park for hiking! We also have a level 2 charging station on upper drive on the house!

The most magical property
We went in the middle of October, it is the most beautiful property w a stunning view that over looked a rainbow of trees. We had a wonderful stay and if ever in the area would definitely stay here again ☺️

What an amazing house and location
This house is simply amazing! Superb value for the price. Spacious, clean, functional, luxury with views that have to be seen to be believed. No issues whatsoever with anything working well, and located close enough to a main road to West Jefferson to allow easy access to shopping there. Comfortable full size beds, plenty of space to lounge around, great hot tub and the view over the New River valley was breathtaking. Too bad we had a busy wedding schedule that took us away from the peaceful environment of this house. In short…pick up some food, wine and paper products on the way in, and you’ll be happy in this paradise home for a few days without having to leave. Owner very responsive to messages, and even offered local information as well as news of a meteorite shower which we watched from the hot tub. We will be going back…worth it despite 7hr drive from MD

Mountain paradise
For our family trip this year we decided to visit west Jefferson and stayed at Michael’s Mountain paradise. Everything was great. The house was very clean and well kept. We had 6 of us and there was plenty of room for at least a couple more. We had no issues with the hot tub and the view was amazing. If multiple people are taking a shower, hot water is an issue but was not a big deal for us. The house is conveniently located within 10-15 minutes of west Jefferson. We really enjoyed our trip and will definitely stay here again if we come back to this area.

Great find with an even better view
This property was a great find. The location was perfect and the view was even better. We spent most of our time on the porch because it was nice and big. The house was clean and had a lot of great amenities. The owner was fast to respond and communicated well. Our only complaint was the air conditioning. There is only one unit for the house and the upstairs was warm. I’m sure it isn’t an issue most of the year, but in July it was a little too warm at night. Otherwise, it was awesome!

Beautiful home, great location, missing overlooked necessities
Pros: We stayed at this beautiful property right before Christmas as a family of all ages (adults, teens, kids). First look, it's absolutely stunning! Perfect set up in splitting ages up (kids in the basement, adults got to hang in the 1st level, those who went to bed early got to stay at the upper level). It has what you need to cook, relax, and see beautiful sights—breathtaking views, wildlife nearby, etc. While there isn't much to do in the town where it is located, our trip was to relax, so it was perfect. Cons: So here is where it gets tricky. While the outside and inside were beautiful - some things that we found important were lacking. 1) The hot water doesn't stay hot. With a big family, two people taking a shower at once was out of the question (even though there are three showers/tubs). Only one person would have hot water, and the others froze. There is a nice soaking tub in one of the bedrooms, but yet, it does not fill all the way with hot water (whether someone else is taking a shower to not)...so that was a bummer. In addition, there was no rhyme or reason to the water getting back hot. I can honestly say, I didn't take a hot show the 4 days we were there (and one time I tried taking it when others were not). 2) The hot tub was broken - and this was interesting. Reading in the guest book at the house, several people reported it broken during their stay, and yet, it was broken for us too. There is an interesting note on the fridge at the property that says something along the lines of "the hot tub gets serviced before every stay, if you call to have it fixed during your stay, there is an extra charge". During our stay, we wanted to forgoed the charge, but still contacted the owner to let him know it did not work. He did respond later saying he could have told us what to do to fix it, along with the outlets that didn't work upstairs (maybe a fuse blew?)..meh. If an issue like this keeps happening should it be resolved? 3) A slightly pain in the butt thing as well is that you are responsible for removing all trash off the premise before departure. This was a little tricky when we needed to pack up the car and drive 15-mins down the road and then drive 15-mins to come back to throw away trash for a larger party that had been there for 4 days. The overall point: It's a beautiful home, but the necessary amenities (like hot water) and those that were promised (hot tub, soaking bath) not living up to the space just made it okay.

Beautiful grounds and gated property. Ample space for family and friends to spread out and relax. Views from upper deck are breathtaking. Had an issue with hot tub not working, but owner helped resolve issue quickly.

Exceeded Expectaions!!!
Wow... the property exceeded our expectations in every aspect. The listing pictures do not do this place justice. It's so warm and cozy. The views are just amazing. We had other family stay in other VRBO's (3 to be exact) during the same weekend. Ours was voted best! We had never been to the west side of NC. It did not disappoint. We just wish we could have stayed longer. We even woke up early our last day just to sit infront of the fireplace with coffee and watch the sun come up. The owner put out a salt block so my wife was able to catch a family of deer just off the back deck.

All went well. Bed rooms are spaced out in this house which is nice. A beautiful home with a beautiful view of the river. We had a full moon while sitting outside at the fire pit. Very peaceful.

Incredible views and beautiful home !
We loved our recent visit to this wonderful home! From start to finish everything went very smoothly. Our host reached out and answered all our questions. When you first arrive there is an electronic gate and you see the spectacular landscaping. Access to the home was very simple. The cherry hardwoods and other woodwork gave the home a warm and inviting vibe. We built a fire in the fire pit, enjoyed the wonderful hot tub, and sat in the comfy chairs on the wrap around deck. All the beds were very comfortable as well. Our 7 month old granddaughter had the perfect area to crawl around in the family room while we all watched tv on the comfy sectional. We also enjoyed the charming town of West Jefferson which was a short drive away. The town was decorated with pumpkins, scarecrows, and cute fall decorations. All the folks were so kind! We also enjoyed a wine tasting at the Carolina Country wine and craft beer store which was so enjoyable. Our family will definitely be returning here in the future. Thanks again to Mike and Laurie for allowing us to stay in your lovely mountain house!!

Great space & location
Mike’s property was exactly as pictured! The back porch area was perfect for evenings - great views, fire pit & hot tub were nice additions. Check-in was a breeze and Mike was quick to communicate. The house was clean and plenty of space for 3 couples and 2 kids under 3.

Beautiful home in Ashe County
Michael's home is beautiful and spacious. It fit our family's needs perfectly. It has a beautiful view, is landscaped nicely, and appears to be well maintained. The kitchen provided enough cookware and utensils when we ate in. The night lights were appreciated since we had young grandchildren with us. We did want to mention a few things we thought could be improved. It would be nice if the front door lock would not reset itself so quickly. It seemed like we were constantly having to re-unlock the front door to get back in. We tried to use the vacuum cleaners that were plugged into the wall outlets near the back door before we left, but they did not appear to be charged and could not be used. There are a few housekeeping issues. A couple we addressed with Michael upon our arrival. When we arrived there was a half filled bottle of Gatorade on the floor next to a couch on the second floor and one of the pillow cases on the bed on the first floor had blood stains on it. Thankfully, there was another pillowcase in the bathroom closet. Upon doing our cleanup as we prepared to leave we also found some children's items laying around from previous guests. We left these on the table in the entrance way. The last item I want to mention is asking a guest to strip the beds for laundering at the end of the stay. This may not be the best idea. After finding a bloody pillow case upon our arrival, I was very apprehensive about finding anything under the sheets. Thankfully, it was clean. I have a daughter that has been in hotel management for years and she said you never ask a guest to strip the sheets off the bed for the exact reason of what they may find. Even though there were a few housekeeping issues for us, we enjoyed our stay and do recommend this property for anyone staying in the area.

Great View!
Upon arrival, one knows that this home is something special. There is a gated entrance, opening up to a gorgeously landscaped yard. The home is well-maintained and has an awesome view from the deck and master bedroom. There are plenty of outdoor chairs to accommodate a large crowd. The owner has thought of everything for entertaining the kids: an air hockey table, corn hole boards, basketball net, etc. And also for the adults: game table, bar w/refrigerator downstairs, and a hot tub and fire pit on the deck. We didn't use all of the features of the house due to the weather (and lack of time!), but it really looked like fun. Would recommend this home to anyone. The only drawbacks I can think of is the road up to the house is full of potholes, the garage is off limits, the couch is uncomfortable, and there is no way to turn around in the driveway if you have a bigger vehicle.

Did not like Cameras everywhere felt like I was being watched. Driveway was a joke. terrible designed. number of switches for lights was Ridiculous. All respond to any questions was sent to my daughter in law. not me. I booked and I paid. Had king size sheets on my regular size bed. Had to get up several times per night to put the fitted sheet back on the bed. The view in my opinion is all the house got going. would not recommend to my friends.
