Downtown Experience Rich in History & Charm! Centrally Located in Black Hills

A rare & unique 4BR 3BA created to give families a true BH experience. Centrally located to all Black Hills attractions, making it the perfect homebase for sightseeing. A luxurious feel is paired with historic charm in this massive family friendly home. TV's in every room, cloud like mattresses, poker table, fireplace, brand new spa, & fully stocked kitchens and bathrooms. Hop across the street for dinner, drinks, & fun at Bullwhacker's or step next door to the cozy beer garden for a cold one

Get ready for the most unique and memorable lodging experience that will have you feeling like you're back in 1908 during the Black Hills Gold Rush! Originally built as The Jones Hotel, guests can now lay their heads where Calamity Jane visited on her travels in the Old West days. This gorgeous 1908 Sandstone building houses two grand historic condos that are spacious and renovated with endless charming details throughout. Perfect homebase for site seeing as it's centrally located in the BH.

***Don't forget the fur babies because we are PET friendly***
This is a unique experience you won't want to pass on! It's difficult to capture the sheer grandness and spectacular craftsmanship of the rooms in the photos. As guests walk in we often hear "WOW this is SO much more than what the photos look like". Out of over 20 rentals, this is the one guests often request to extend their stay or express their disappointment in having to leave. So as much as we try, it's nearly impossible to capture just how big the rooms are, how tall the ceilings are, and the amazing attention to detail throughout. It's one our guests truly need to see in person to get the full experience! Guests frequently describe it as mind blowing, stunning, jaw dropping, or a true diamond in the rough. This building is also family owned and managed so the love and connection we have to The Jones Building is evident in how we care for and decorate it.

The Jones building is located on Meade Street in Whitewood, SD and was originally "The Jones Hotel", where Calamity Jane frequented on her travels during the Black Hills Gold Rush in the early 1900's. If you know Wild Bill Hickok, you'll know his beloved Calamity Jane! The only known photo of Calamity Jane was taken right out front of the building (and there's a story behind the photo you can read at the condo)

No matter what's on your list for site seeing, Whitewood enables you to be a manageable drive to all tourist attractions. Less time in the car, more time visiting attractions! A small family town with multiple restaurants, bars, grocery store, convenience stores, parks (yes hiking in the hills!), and a local police department.

This is s hidden gem! We loved staying here! Yes we would definitely stay again! Beautiful renovations with up to date amenities. I must have missed the description that it's on the second floor but we were "young" enough to climb the stairs. I would also suggest some kind of flip up/down privacy fence for the hot tub area--that might be okay for some but we'd like a little more privacy from the next door neighbor. Very nice central location, not far from many Black Hills cities and attractions. We had several great visits to the Bullwacker just across the street, and also the Hideaway down the street. Great service with great food and refreshments. No issues with check-in or out. There was an overtly friendly cat that would visit the tub and balcony areas in the evening.

SD Great location and Stay
Location was perfect with short drives within an hour to get where we wanted to go. The inside was awesome with everything you need and Brandi was great at communicating. Didn't realize this was upstairs(with a lot of stairs) in which some of our party struggled with, but all in all this was wonderful and would stay here again.

Weekend getaway
We enjoyed our family weekend away. There was plenty of room for the whole family, with four bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. There is a large flight of stairs to get up to the condo. Bullwacker’s across the street has good food. The next time we are in the area we will definitely stay again

Spacious Home Base
This condo is very spacious. It gave our family of four adults plenty of space to spread out and have some privacy when wanted (needed). Loved how old and historical it was, while still still being clean and homey. HUGE windows and very high ceilings make it feel even more spacious and airy. Comfortable furniture, including couch and chair in living room and the mattresses, made it easy to relax after a long day of hiking and sightseeing. The location could be a plus or minus. It's in a VERY quiet town away from hustle and bustle, but it is a longer drive to many of the main attractions. If you want to be right in the thick of things, book a hotel in Deadwood/Keystone/etc. If you want more space away from the tourist attractions, this is for you.

Historic in Whitewood
My family stayed here two nights so that we could attend my aunt’s funeral service in nearby Spearfish. This place was very well equipped with all the modern amenities, while gushing historic charm. Host was amazing too!

Beautiful!!
This place is so unique - it takes your breath away! Our kids say they would love to live here:) Brandi was so good to work with and we fell in love with the condo the minute we stepped into the entry way. The condo is so spacious yet cozy, and makes you feel as if you're in another era all together! Our dogs enjoyed their stay as well, we were so happy to be able to bring them:) I would highly recommend staying here.

Wonderful girls weekend
The property was wonderful for 4 of us for a girls get away weekend. Large open beautiful space. We did not use the hot tub as it looked a bit green and was 103 which didn't seem warm enough but otherwise the place was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. Very nice!

Loved it!
We loved our stay in this house! Location was great- in the middle of so many attractions yet the town was quiet. We had plenty of room for everyone and the house had everything we needed. Loved the deck, fire pit and hot tub. We loved that the house had all the "old" touches while still being modernized! Would definitely stay here again..
