I booked a stay through Expedia for a family wedding. Got to the hotel and was told the room was being cleaned. Came back after the ceremony and was told they were overbooked and we didn’t have a room. The sent us to the Tru which is also owned by Hilton. We had to go to a hotel 20 minutes away and separate from our family and the transportation to the reception.
When we got to the Try I asked for a refund of the price difference because it was a cheaper hotel than I had paid for. I was told that they were going to refund my entire stay. I was happy with that.
Well, I never got a refund at all. I was given a phone number for a manager when we checked in. I called and they had no record of me being told that. I emailed the manager twice and never heard back. So I paid for a nicer hotel and was moved without notice to a lower cost one Horrible experience to be charged for one thing and be given another and then lied to.
