Despite the stunning rural location, you are on the fringe of the Lake District National Park; the beautiful village of Caldbeck is just 8 miles away, whilst the historic city of Carlisle, with its castle, museum and shopping, are just are short drive. There are a number of excellent pubs and restaurants in the area offering a wide variety of good food and real ale, and for walkers this is an ideal location for exploring the Lake District National Park, Hadrian’s Wall, the Solway Coast and the Scottish Borders. There are guided walks with the ramblers which are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, so it’s well worth asking the owner for further details. Beach 16 miles.
