Mazama Mountain Hideaway is waiting to be your basecamp for fun!

Recently built Mazama Mountain Hideaway is waiting to be your basecamp for fun!

Mazama Mountain Hideaway is perfect for 4-6 people to enjoy the space and privacy of three separate bedrooms in our newly constructed and beautiful cabin located between Winthrop and Mazama. We are about 10 miles west of Winthrop, and about 3 miles, or a 5 minute drive from a tasty scone or baguette at the Mazama Store.

The downstairs features a nicely appointed kitchen that is ready for you to cook great meals for your friends and family. Enjoy your meals, in the natural light of the beautiful dining nook that seats 6 adults comfortably with views of Flagg Mountain and Goat Peak in the distance. The downstairs also features a toasty propane fireplace, bedroom, full bathroom, and coat / boot room with all new washer and dryer to help you clean up after your adventures. While we generally appreciate going to our cabin to unplug, we do provide wireless internet, HDTV, and 4k BluRay DVD with a Bluetooth capable audio system for entertainment.

The upstairs features two larger bedrooms and a second full bathroom. All three bedrooms are furnished with very comfortable new queen beds with goose down comforters in the winter, and lighter bedding for summer. Many of our friends and guests remark that these mattresses are more comfortable than what they have at home. Let us know what you think!

• No smoking or vaping is permitted anywhere on the premises.
• No more than 6 guests are allowed.
• We are sharing our beautifully furnished new cabin with you, please treat it as you would want others to treat your home.
• No fires or candles.
• No Pets.
• Housekeeping: Your cleaning fee helps to pay for the cleaning of the home after your stay and does not include any form of daily housekeeping. Sheets and towels have been provided and may be cleaned using the washer and dryer during your stay if you desire.
• Dishes are handwashed at Mazama Mountain Hideaway, we do not have a dishwasher.
• Towels, Linen, and Blankets – Please don’t take the towels, linen, or our throw blankets outdoors for any reason.
• Propane Fireplace – The fireplace is efficient and warm but must be turned off whenever leaving the home.
• Power – We’re at the end of the road, and sometimes the power goes out, or the internet goes down. It’s part of the mountain cabin experience.
• Seasonally offered grill – Bring your own 16oz propane bottles to use the grill when offered seasonally. Please confirm with owner if arriving in late fall or spring.
• Septic System - Rural living means using a septic system. Please don’t flush anything besides toilet paper and human waste.
• Highway passes – During the winter months, State Route 20 is closed between Newhalem and Mazama. Guests arriving from the westside will need to plan on traveling over I-90 or US 2. Please monitor the mountain weather forecast and pass conditions closely.
• Parking – There is room for parking three cars in the parking area. The road and driveway are plowed regularly during the winter months. If arriving at night, please consider keeping a headlamp or flashlight handy as there are no streetlights. The cabin is on a gravel drive that is plowed regularly.

Hot, hot, hot!
The cabin was cute - small, but comfortable. The beds were comfy, as others have mentioned. Nice fluffy towels and toiletries in the bathrooms. Kitchen seemed well stocked (we did not cook- due to next issue). The factor that put a huge damper on our trip was the temperature...there is no air conditioning and no good air circulation. They do provide numerous fans, but even with careful fan placement, opening and closing windows/blinds at appropriate times, etc...we never got the downstairs under 81 degrees - and the upstairs was probably 5-10 degrees warmer. We avoided the cabin as much as possible and were unable to sleep much due to the stifling atmosphere. We planned to cook some meals but there was no way we wanted to turn on more heat!! Of course, this would not be an issue many months of the year but if you are traveling in the summer you have been forewarned,

Cutest Cabin Getaway
Cozy and on the living area / kitchen is on the slightly smaller side. But 6 adults got along just fine and plenty of seating / lounging still to be had. Kitchen and bathrooms were well supplied and it was nice to have home amenities available. Really impressed there was covered parking. And location was favorably accessible for our activities. Would recommend!

Awesome location and cozy cabin
Really enjoyed our stay here! The kitchen was great and so was the extra space in the bedrooms and the big kitchen table. It's also great that they provide space to drop your outdoor gear before moving into the main living areas. Super quiet and super convenient to the great outdoors! We were slightly irritated by the tiny flies that congregate outside at night and are attracted to light, but it wasn't a big deal. Definitely a great property!

Wonderful Mountain Hideaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Mazama Mountain Hideaway. We used this great cabin as a jumping off point for several adventures, including North Cascades National Park and Maple Pass Loop hike. We started each morning at the Mazama store and then headed out on an adventure. The cabin is perfect! Newly built and furnished. Great location, well-supplied, and tastefully decorated. Communication from the owner made every piece of this trip so easy. Thank you!

Perfection!
Everything about this cabin was perfect. My wife and I went there to XC ski and it could not have been better. The location to Mazama was ideal for the upper trails and it was still so close to Winthrop for those trails and dining. The cabin itself was immaculate and incredibly comfortable. And the owners were very quick with communication. We will book this cabin again next season and have already recommended it to friends.

Fantastic house!!!
Loved so much about this little house! Clean, well stocked kitchen, beautiful local art and books, comfortable beds and pillows, terrific layout allowing kids upstairs and adults downstairs, gear shed for us to stow skis and sleds, cozy fireplace, awesome dining nook with bench seating. Easy instructions, clear and proactive communication from owners. Note the Liberty area is not grooming their ski trail, but it is a <5min drive to brown's farm trailhead. All was SO lovely!!! We will be back.

Adorable cabin
The cabin was easily accessed from the hwy. It was close to the north cascades and many hikes. The town of Winthrop is so quaint. The pictures make the home look bigger, it is quite small, but plenty of room for the two of us. It also looks like it is secluded, but it is close to other cabins and the road, yet it was peaceful and quiet. It was a heat wave while we were there, but the owner had high powered fans that helped and it cooled off at night. We would stay again because of location and comfort of the home. Thank you for sharing it.

Wake Up, and Smell the Ponderosa!
We had a lovely stay! Very clean and comfortable, and we greatly appreciated the binder and guide books with information about the area. We enjoyed being amidst the trees, mountains and stars. A couple of notes, to help future travelers: - Grill: It was small and required a smaller propane tank than we brought. This was our mistake, however - the owner did clearly describe this in the listing, and we simply did not read carefully enough. - Way-finding: The directions to the cabin were a bit confusing (outdated, perhaps?). It mentioned counting a number of houses, but this seemed to be off. Thankfully, the house number was clearly visible from the street.
