Welcome to The Pond Cottage! This pristine, private cottage is perched on a dune on the shore of Lake Michigan. Come to enjoy our spectacular natural setting, and our proximity to the rich cultural amenities and diverse sporting opportunities in nearby Kohler and Sheboygan. Fine dinning, shopping and the arts, charter fishing excursions, and world class spa and golf courses are all within a 15 minute drive.
Set forward of the woods, the cottage has unobstructed views of Lake Michigan along with 275 ft. of lake shore frontage. When you open the back door to step into the cottage the first thing you see is a spectacular view of the lake. The cottage has two great screened porches with views of the lake. Use one for morning coffee or an afternoon nap, the other leads to an oversized deck with table and chairs for dining and a large umbrella for shade. There is plenty of room for grilling or lounging in the sun.
Sunrises at the cottage are a treat to behold, and as noted by a previous guest, "moonrises over the lake are an experience not to be missed." The cottage is on an unpaved, wooded lane which is perfect for strolling. We welcome you to spend a refreshing and relaxing stay at The Pond Cottage. Wonderful place!
Stunning view, well outfitted cottage, and peaceful location. Highly recommend! The location is secluded, yet easy access to groceries, a bakery with delicious sweets, and a neighborhood restaurant with a dynamite breakfast.

A Relaxing Getaway
The house was exactly as described and perfect for our group. The kitchen stocked everything you would need to cook and if dining out is your preference plenty of great places within a short drive. The private beach was amazing. We enjoyed enough space to set up a volleyball court and have room to set up lawn chairs and relax. My daughter asked if we could rent again and return next year!

Wonderful cottage!
We enjoyed every minute of our stay in this lovely cottage. It had everything we needed plus numerous thoughtful details, like nightlights and power strips. The beach is gorgeous. We also were lucky to see several deer as we drove to and from the cottage. Hope to be back!

Private Beach Retreat
Location was unbeatable! The cottage is set on a sandy beach (soft & great for sandcastles) and set back in the woods with endless views of shore and lake so we felt as if we had the whole lake to ourselves. We were also close enough to Sheboygan to make a quick trip for things we forgot (and some really good pizza). Cottage was equipped with kid friendly furnishings indoor and out. Thoughtfully laid out and well stocked. Everything seemed new and fresh and very high quality. The screened porches were fantastic at all times of the day and even during a brief rain storm. Manager was easy to reach and check-in and check-out were so simple. We wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Could not have been better!
I wish I was a more expressive writer to get across how great this property is! Our time here was short, but we enjoyed it to its fullest. We brought our kayaks, read a bit in each of the chairs (our main goal for renting this place!), did our morning stretches on the deck above the lake, watched 2 of 3 sunrises (pretty good for us!) and just totally decompressed. It's definitely the cleanest place we ever rented! And the most relaxing. OK, and the most beautiful! It was overall perfect. Thank you so much!

Fuel for the Mind, Body and Soul
I needed time away for myself. I was feeling burned out at work and there was just a lot of stress in my life. I know I wanted space to think, read, write and be at one with nature. The Pond Cottage was just what I needed. It was cozy, quaint, clean, well maintained and just watching and listening to the waves was so relaxing and reparative. The pictures don't do it justice. The screened in porch was the perfect space. Walks along the beach and on the country roads were so nice to get close to different elements of nature. I already miss it and want to go back.

Great view of Lake Michigan
The Pond Cottage will not disappoint you. It is located right on the shoreline of Lake Michigan. The views from the cottage and the outdoor deck and seating areas are breathtaking. We especially enjoyed having an evening fire with the lake view. The cottage was very clean and well equipped with all the kitchen utensils we needed. It is very private and peaceful. There is a nice grocery store close by and you also have quick access to a freeway and it's only a short jaunt to Sheboygan. I would highly recommend the Pond Cottage for couples looking for a peaceful, romantic getaway. The only disappointment was the lack of beach due to the unusually high Lake Michigan water levels. That was only a minor issue since the views more than made up for it.

Great home, but no beach- still worthwhile
We truly enjoyed our stay. The photos do not do the house justice. We loved sitting on the deck and watching the lake. The care takers went above and beyond in helping find a beach suitable for our needs. A few notes- the lake is high and there is no beach to speak of on the property. This was disappointing as we chose the property because of the beach. That said, there are nice beaches within easy driving distances. Getting into the lake was challenging. The stairs end at rocks that are difficult to navigate- but once in, the sandy bottom lake is gorgeous. Bring towels and shampoo. They provide 4 beech towels, but there is no washer or dryer. We would stay at the property again-

White sand heaven on Lake Michigan
This is the cleanest, best-maintained vacation rental I've ever stayed in. Everything is in excellent condition and very thoughtfully furnished. The property is on a large expanse of white sand. You can't see any other homes and it feels very secluded. Incredible, nearly 180 degree views from the screen porches, living room, and outstanding patio with seating under a large cantilever umbrella. Comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, unbeatable access to sand, lake, and sky. You will likely see deer if up at dawn or walking the little gravel road in the evening. Attentive communication from property manager. It's not fancy, but so cozy and quaint. If you are looking to spend time with loved ones getting back to the speed of nature, falling asleep to the sound of waves, enjoying walks on the beach, campfires and stars at night, this place is a literal slice of heaven. Even the hyperactive child in our group was CALM after 3 days of playing in the sand, running into the cold lake, and walks down the beach. Everyone in our group including adults, teen, and child, LOVED this place. Thank you for a wonderful, peaceful retreat!

Secluded Gem of a Home with Amazing Views...But No Beach This Year
This was our second year staying at the Pond Cottage...It is truly an incredible property. The house is immaculate and well-equipped. It had plenty of space for our family of 4 to spread out and lots of quaint and cozy touches. We cooked pretty extensively and never found anything lacking. The caretaker was very responsive to any questions we had and offered helpful advice. The views from the porches and pretty much every room in the home are spectacular...Listening to the waves and the sound of the wind in the trees is an incredible way to fall asleep. During our first year at the Pond, our kids spent hours playing on the home's lovely little beach; while no one can control the lake levels, we were quite disappointed to find that there was no beach this summer. The owner and caretaker did provide helpful advice on public beaches that were 15-20 minutes away, and we found one that was nice (and didn't have COVID-related restrictions), but it was a logistical challenge with little kids. While we were tempted to swim in the lake by the property, we found it too treacherous to climb over the rocks at the foot of the staircase down to what used to be the beach (our two-year-old was certainly eager to try and it was a constant struggle to keep him away from there!) Like other reviewers, we would definitely recommend this property for its secluded beauty and charming home, and it would be perfect at this point for a romantic getaway. We hope to return someday when the lake levels recede and the beach comes back!

Amazing private waterfront stay
We LOVED our stay at the Pond Cottage! The cute old cottage feel and look with plenty of space for everyone to sleep and relax was great! But the outside and beachfront are what seal the deal! The beautiful private beach with amazing water and sand but also the overall privacy of the location was perfect. We enjoyed the beach all days swimming, walking, and paddle boarding. We even ate meals out there because it was just too great to stay away. The girls loved sleeping in the bunk beds and my husband and I slept great in our own beds in the private room on the other side! The cottage had everything we needed to be comfortable inside as well. We’re coming back next year and can’t wait!

Wonderful cottage right on the lake
Wonderful cottage right on the lake! Beautiful, big, sandy beach.We especially loved the screen porches that allowed us to feel like we were on the beach even while we were in the house. We had a rainy weekend but still enjoyed the beauty of the lake up close from the cozy screen porch. The property is quite big and there is a lot of space to the neighbor's houses so it felt very private and secluded. We were there for 3 days and saw a total of about 5 people, all walkers going down the beach. The host was friendly, informative, and very generous to give us a late checkout on our last day. We would love to stay here again! One note is that all the beds are twins, doubles, or fulls, so there is no queen or king bed for a couple to sleep in. Also the Wi-Fi is pretty slow, so I don't plan on streaming HD movies.

Perfect Getaway for our Family of 5!
The Pond Cottage is a true gem. We loved the proximity to the beach! Started and ended our day on the amazing the screened in patio with the sound of waves crashing. You can just tell how much thought and care is put into this place, from the cleanliness to the ample sleeping arrangements for larger families. We will definitely be back!
