The Space:
Hidden Gem by Tiny Away is a lovely tiny house situated in Woodgate, just a 44-minute drive from Bundaberg. A city known for its signature rum distillery, and perfect base from which to explore the Southern Great Barrier Reef. Bundaberg Botanic Gardens, Woodgate Beach, Wetside Water Park, Urangan Pier, and the Mon Repos Turtle Centre are a few nearby attractions in the area.
Experience a comfortable stay amidst lush green trees and spacious surroundings. Where you can enjoy the uninterrupted starry night skies, listen to the soothing sounds of crickets, and wake up to birdsong. Our cozy 139-square-foot tiny home offers well-furnished guest rooms, spacious public areas, and comfortable seating areas.
Complete with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette with cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers).

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house and the surrounding area. Guests will have a huge area to explore (about 20 acres). Bushwalking is allowed throughout the camping grounds and river. There will be a restricted private area that is marked and fenced.
The Neighborhood:
Hidden Gem by Tiny Away is the ideal tiny house Queensland retreat in Woodgate, 44 minutes away from the city of Bundaberg and 40 minutes from the rural town of Childers. Discover the beauty of the tiny house with its 4x4 beach access. Just 6 kilometers to the north, you will find 8 kilometers of wide-open beach.
As an added note, we would like to inform guests that they do not require a permit to drive on this beach and it is an off-leash area for your dogs. If you're lucky in first light, you may see hatchlings beginning their new life.
Our local recommendations:
- Bundaberg Botanic Gardens features a variety of 10,000 trees and shrubs with a network of boardwalks that encourage visitors to enjoy the various themed gardens and native birds.
- Wetside Water Park is located on the foreshore at Hervey Bay and is a fun, family friendly water park designed with something for everyone.
- Urangan Pier is one of the longest in Australia. It stretches for almost one kilometer into the ocean. A walk to the end will reward with spectacular views of Hervey Bay
- Mon Repos Turtle Centre is dedicated to marine turtle research and education. Here you can discover the details, the big picture and the people protecting these ancient mariners.
The host’s recommendations:
- The Burrum river flows past our southern boundary. This is an excellent spot for swimming, fishing, kayaking or boating.
- Walkers Point village is a few hundred meters to our southeastern boundary and within easy walking distance. From the Walkers Point esplanade there are two walking trails into the Burrum River nature reserve. The boat ramp offers access to the river and ocean.
- Theodolite Creek north of Woodgate Beach is the ideal picnic spot. Boasting amenities, BBQ area and a great spot to launch your boat or kayak into the tidal lagoon. This is a very safe spot for young children to swim and enjoy themselves in the sand.
- Woodgate Beach offers all the amenities to make a holiday memorable. Great beaches, restaurants, convenience stores, medical facilities and pharmacies.
Getting Around:
By car:
- 10 mins to Woodgate
- 40 mins from Childers
- 44 mins from Bundaberg
Lastly, it's just an hour's drive from the coastal towns of Burrum Heads, Hervey Bay, and River Heads. All are reachable by both 2WD and 4WD.
By public transport:
- Local Woodgate courtesy buses on request. Community bus by pre-arranged opportunities to Bundaberg and Childers.

- Wifi is not available
- BBQ Grill is not available
- Pets are allowed by prior notice
- Smoking is not allowed on the property
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Please note that pet policies will be sent prior to arrival
- Please expect limited connectivity as the tiny house is set in a rural locality
- Pets are not allowed on beds and sofas, and clean after your pet’s droppings
- Don’t forget to close the windows and lock doors when leaving the tiny house/ property
- Please clean up after your pet’s shedding before checking out in courtesy of other guests
- Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and electronics (e.g., especially chargers)
- Mobile reception is good for Telstra and Optus; Vodafone has weak signal and the rest has no signal
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
Important note:
- Keep in mind that outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the [compost/cassette] toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
