"A lovely boutique hotel, down a quiet side street but close to the main road, with great staff. Max greeted us on arrival and was always checking to make sure we were happy. He also gave an excellent recommendation for dinner. Our room was a good size and the bathroom was supplied with spa products which were very nice and available to buy. Free coffee was always available and supplemented by cake of the day in the afternoon. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice on offer."

The gardens and farm are not a performance - at over 2000 acres and something like 700 staff they somehow manage to seamlessly blend luxury with genuine production, and the variety is extraordinary. "We spent our last night in Boschendal in a werf suite. We were very impressed, it probably had the best bed on our trip. The cottage was well decorated and very well equipped. The staff were friendly and the food at the Werf restaurant was great. I would recommend."

"We stayed at Mont Rochelle for the second stop of our honeymoon. We had previously come from Cape Town, and it was an easy one hour ish drive/Uber into Franschhoek. This place is absolutely gorgeous!!! We came during the winter months and the sunset over the vineyards and mountains were stunning. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The customer service here was top of the line. We were checked in by Peter and he helped us map our the activities and transportation required while we were staying at the hotel. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle that runs certain times of the day. This was such a great feature, as Ubers aren’t as common out in the winery areas. The check in process alone was so special, we checked in seated by the fire place, with a hot towel, and a glass of champagne. The staff truly made us feel special throughout our entire stay. The lobby has an old hotel kitty that hangs out and he is so cute and sleeps all day long by the fire. I want to be that kitty when I grow up. The rooms were so clean and decorated really well. We had one of the rooms on the main level that looked out to the mountains. The view alone was spectacular. We highly recommend staying at Mont Rochelle. You must stay here when visiting Franschhoek. "
