Unfortunately, the main Lake Hotel building was closed for renovation. This was not make clear beforehand. We were put up in one on the adjacent buildings. Staying at the Lake Hotel would have been preferred due to its location facing the lake. So, it is hard to rate the property.

This property has three types of accommodations - the hotel itself, cabins and a lodge which are all close to the main hotel. The main hotel does not offer king beds and if you want this type of room, you will be assigned to the lodge. This building was once used to house staff. That tells you all you need to know - bare bones, but decent. No staff are onsite at the lodge. It is primarily for sleeping. There are 4 chairs in a little sitting area right by the front door. The bathroom vanity is outside of the bathroom, the bathroom floor is linoleum and the tub is one of those molded fiberglass types. The walls are stucco. The room was clean.
Our friends stayed at the hotel. The walls were plaster and had crown molding.Their bathroom floor and walls were tiled and the bathroom had premium fixtures.
The breakfast buffet was good. The food off the menu is average at best. My coq au vin was inedible. They should take it off the menu if they can't do a better job. It bore no resemblance to coq au vin whatsoever.
The lobby is impressive! Large windows, comfy seating areas and a pianist provides soft music in the evening.
The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. They come from all over the world and their home country is on their name tag. It was fun to talk to people from so many different places.
If you can, take the scenic boat ride around the lake. The ride departs about 5 minutes from the hotel.
I would definitely stay here again.
For the price, our cottage was good; beds comfortable; heater worked nicely. No fridge, no microwave, though. No wi-fi at cottages nor in the very large yellow Hotel. The front room in the Hotel was huge and inviting. Had comfy chairs and a great view of the lake. The history of the Hotel was great and there were many period pictures.
I had to drive up the road (3/4 mile?) to the Lake Lodge & Cabins for wi-fi as I had a couple of things I HAD to do online. We ate at the Lake Lodge in the morning.
We knew that the kitchen was being remodeled but what we weren’t told was that the whole hotel was closing the day we left Sunday the 6th, so not even a bar for drinks and the deli was not a deli more like a stop and go coffee shop. I would have thought a least I could get a cup of coffee free at that point.😌
Beautiful views, friendly staff, and quick easy check in. The cabins were not clean. Floor/rug had rocks, dirt and debris on them like they hadn’t been vacuumed. Cold bring an extra blanket. Shower was out of shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
Cabins are not serviced and beds were not comfortable with very thin bedding which wasn't really adequate for the time of the year.
Large dust piles and dirt in behind bedside table and furniture
Really loved the park but cabin and also Wylie's cafeteria leave a lot to be desired
I ordered a chicken burger only for around _$12 and the patty itself was actually inedible was that hard you couldn't even chew it hence I threw it out and just ate a salad bun.
Very poor considering the limited options available at that time of the year 😕

Disliked: Amenities
Expedia toatally mislead us Telling us we had a reservation at the Yellowstone Lake hotel and then when got there were told the hotel was closed and they booked us in some other lodge. In complaining to Expedia they refused to make it right. Terrible, terrible company. I won’t use them again!!!!!!!
