Stillington is situated between the historic city of York (10 miles) and the very popular market town of Helmsley (12 miles). Styfel Cottage is the perfect base for exploring all that the local area has to offer. The village has a village store and Post Office, two great pubs and an Indian restaurant. The Georgian market town of Easingwold, with its attractive cobbled market place is only 4 miles away. Easingwold has a good range of independent shops, with Farmers' Market on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Easingwold Golf Club is a short drive away, with daily rates for visitors.
York park and ride - 10 miles - A vibrant festival city, with Roman roots and a Viking past. Full of attractions including The Shambles, Jorvik Viking Centre, York Minster, York City Walls, York’s Chocolate Story, York City Cruises (we can highly recommend the fish and chip cruise), York Museum Gardens, York Castle Museum, and National Railway Museum.
Whitby - 45 miles - Historic seaside town, home to the Gothic Whitby Abbey, inspiration for Bram Stokers Dracula. Church of St Mary reached by 199 steps. Captain Cook memorial museum.

Harrogate - 25 miles - Boutique spa town in the heart of Yorkshire, home of Bettys Tea Room. Its thriving streets buzz with busy shops and eateries, with its spa heritage that can be seen at every turn.
