Just outside of York minutes from Grimston Car Park shuttle service. Attached restaurant that included traditional English Breakfast in the morning. Helpful staff. Enjoyed our stay!
We stayed at this pub hotel with friends from the US. We were all travelling around UK and this stop was to see a bit of Yorkshire. This hotel is near York and not far from a Park and Ride which was very useful to get into York itself (York is a wonderful city to visit). We also visited Pickering and Whitby as well as the North York Moors. So the location of this hotel was very good for all those visits.
We were made very welcome by the staff and enjoyed their breakfasts each morning we were there.
Stayed here for one night after dropping our Daughter at York Uni, very nice, ate in the bar, excellent food, room comfortable, friendly staff, would recommend.
Stayed as a base for touring Yorkshire. We were greeted with a warm welcome and had a most enjoyable stay. Good Park and Ride nearby for easy trips into York.
Free Wifi. Good food. Would happily stay again.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
Nice place for a stopover.
Good clean accommodation. Very quiet during night and good freshly cooked breakfast in morning. Pub grub good as well.
Great place and not too far from York city. Staff we're accomodating. A nice selection of food if you choose to dine in. Rooms were clean and bed was comfy.
Check-in was very low profile - just collect your key (and check-out) in the restaurant. Food was some of the best we ate in a 14-day UK trip and all the staff were very friendly. Beds and room temperature were comfortable and huge handicap-room shower offered excellent accessibility for our elderly relative (no high-step-up into a narrow shower stall). Location is easily accessible yet quiet with lovely views of private garden/grassy area with tables.

Quaint little pub comfortable rooms at the rear
Quite small pub, restaurant and a few rooms at the rear. Staff were very accommodating, rooms were small, but functional. Good breakfast!
Whatever was lacking in the condition was offset by the food and the staff. Although located on the highway, the rooms were in the back and there was very little noise. Our room had a view of the garden which was very nice.

Disliked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Hotel price for motel quality ?
Room was ok with good shower, but I did not think it was worth £110 a night. Bed was a bit lumpy and carpet was a little grubby. B'fast was fine but again, carpet in b'fast room was a bit smelly.
Considering the location outside York, I felt this was a bit expensive for what was on offer
Excellent home cooked food, but a limited menu. No snacks or salads on offer.
Clean room and welcoming staff made for a pleasant stay.
Great English breakfast, very tasty!!!
Sundy gets busy as the sunday roast was amazing.
Although the hotel is 4.5 miles outside York centre, there is a bus stop close by, and a park & ride 2 miles outside city centre.
Would stay here again, food excellent, staff and rooms very nice.
Very welcoming, evening meal at the windmill pub excellent and so was the breakfast. First impression of the accommodation block was not great but once in room very comfortable , clean and well furnished.
The hotel was basically a pub with rooms totally staff run - but very well. Rooms were of a reasonable size but clean and reasonably comfortable. There were some things that needed closer attention to detail to make it "perfect" . Shower room needs some work as has mold in corners, shower leaked and got floor wet
Pub food was good and plentiful and reasonably priced
