Enjoy unique views stretching as far as Arizona from this favorite southern viewpoint in Utah’s beloved Bryce Canyon National Park.

Visit Yovimpa Point to see some of the most stunning panoramas in Bryce Canyon National Park. Near the southernmost point in the park, it is a popular last stop along the park’s scenic drive. Admire soaring hoodoo rock formations and thick evergreen forests unfolding before you.

Yovimpa Point marks the top step in the Grand Staircase region. See vistas of unique rock formations unfolding before you. The Grand Staircase is massive. In the 1870s, geographer Clarence Dutton remarked that it is so vast that much of it is hidden behind the curvature of the earth. Regardless, the view from Yovimpa Point offers a great view of the colorful rock steps that descend to the bottom of the canyon. Stand on the top Pink Cliffs and see them give way to the White Cliffs and the Vermillion Cliffs.

Follow the scenic drive for 18 miles (29 kilometers) along the length of the park. Begin at the visitor center at the northern end and continue to its terminus at Rainbow Point. From here, take a short walk to Yovimpa Point. Either drive yourself or take a guided tour on the complimentary Bryce Canyon Rainbow Point Shuttle.

Enjoy spectacular views from Yovimpa Point. Admire striking cliffs and pinnacles in the foreground that eventually give way to step-like cliffs that descend to the canyon floor. On a clear day, see as far as 100 miles (160 kilometers) into Arizona. The Kaibab Plateau, bordered by the Grand Canyon, and Navajo Mountain often appear above the horizon.

Take a short hike along the Bristlecone Trail. Walk through fascinating rock formations and a lush coniferous forest. Explore the landscape in more depth along the Riggs Spring Loop Trail, which descends into the canyons between Rainbow and Yovimpa points.

Don’t miss the opposite vista at Rainbow Point, which is a 10-minute walk through the forest from Yovimpa Point. See the entire northern expanse of Bryce Canyon National Park stretch before you. It is one of the most popular views in the park, for good reason.
