We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa for our trip to Bali, the apartment was huge, very well maintained and had everything we needed and more, it came with a butler, ours was Yudi, he was fantastic, everything we needed he sorted immediately, he would WhatsApp us restaurant suggestions, tours and what was happening in the resort, we really couldn't have asked for more from him. This place is an ideal relaxation destination, was a couple hours from all the hustle and bustle of Bali but that suited us and taxis were so cheap it didn't matter. Would highly recommend this resort!

The design and grounds of this hotel are fantastic, but over the years no money has been spent on upkeep so everything is quite worn and shabby. It’s a shame, with a little money and refresh and a better restaurant, this would be an amazing resort.

This was one of the most beautiful hotels we have ever booked. Quiet and peaceful in a romantic setting. We stayed four nights in one of the Cempaka Villas which featured a king size four post bed, spa-like bathroom, kitchenette, and our own private swimming pool. It was luxurious.
The grounds are meticulously kept and walking around the resort felt like a walk through paradise. The restaurant featured a variety of foods, including local cuisine, and it was all fantastic, including the free breakfast.
The black sand beach was gorgeous, and although we didn’t swim in the ocean (the waves were quite strong) we did walk along the beach and wade in the warm water.
The newly opened Moonstone beach club, adjacent to but connected to the Royal Purnama, had a hip vibe, a large swimming area and plenty of cabanas and loungers to relax while overlooking the black sand beach.
The staff may have been the best part of our experience. They were all so friendly and accommodating. We truly felt as though they were there to help make our experience the best it could be-prompt, professional, and always courteous. Their smiles and friendly demeanor were contagious. They helped arrange spa services on-site, dinner reservations, excursions, and local transport. The location, while not in the midst of the Bali party scene was convenient to the airport, harbor (for Nusa Peneida excursions), and Ubud cultural sites. Special shoutout to Angga who spent a day touring us around! And Nita!

Even though it was quite a walk to get to our room, it was very beautiful inside and out. We had a nice view from our balcony. The location is perfect and as soon as you leave the front lobby you are on street with tons of little shops and places to eat. The breakfast was good and they had pork bacon. The staff was very kind and also upon checkout they notified me that I left one of my diamond earrings in the room and they quickly brought it to me before I left, which was such a relief. We really enjoyed our stay at Alaya.

This villa resort is a paradise away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Despite being located away from the tourist amenities, the setting, private pool, public pool, beautiful villa with outdoor bathtub, excellent food and staff service are more than enough for a fulfilling and highly satisfying stay. If the hotel could ensure that the bathtub and private pool is better cleaned, then it would make the place a perfect resort. Regardless, I am a highly satisfied guest and would recommend anyone to give this villa a go. Definitely a must-stay villa resort amidst the rice terrace and highly authentic yet stylish Balinese architecture. Love it!
