Tour bodegas that are famous for their production of malbec wines, climb to the summit of Andean peaks, go white-water rafting and discover striking landforms.

Argentina’s Cuyo Region blends some of the nation’s finest vineyards with thrilling outdoor adventures and stunning natural scenery. Sample superb wines and enjoy exquisite culinary experiences at boutique and large-scale bodegas. Dabble in adventure sports such as climbing, trekking, rafting and skiing. The Cuyo Region stretches from the towering Andes Mountains across sprawling grasslands to the Pampas region.

Mendoza Province is the region’s main tourism center and the gateway to the winelands. Discover the laid-back ambiance that permeates the air of Mendoza city. People-watch at the pretty squares and stretch your legs in Parque General San Martín. Come in March for the Grape Harvest Festival. Learn about the winemaking industry, try a variety of grapes and indulge in gourmet dinners at bodegas located in the nearby towns of Chacras de Coria, Godoy Cruz, Luján de Cuyo and Maipú.

Travel west from Mendoza city into the foothills of the Andes to take part in adventure pursuits. Trek to the summit of 22,841-feet (6,962-meter) tall Aconcagua or get up-close views of this snowcapped peak while hiking in Parque Provincial Aconcagua. Go rafting on the Atuel River, sail on Potrerillos Dam and ski at Las Leñas Ski Resort. Marvel at the panoramic views from the Christ the Redeemer of the Andes statue.

Escape the crowds and relax at the low-key vineyards of San Juan Province. Find some respite from the hot summer sun on the shores of Ullúm Dam, which is a short drive from San Juan city. Discover moonlike landscapes at Parque Provincial Ischigualasto.

San Luis Province is home to the Mirador del Sol, a lookout that affords views over the Sierras de Córdoba mountain range and is a great place for practicing paragliding. Spot guanacos, hike into labyrinthine valleys and gaze up at towering cliffs in Sierra de las Quijadas National Park.

Mendoza’s El Plumerillo International Airport is the main transport hub for the Cuyo - Wine Region. Get around using public buses and organized tours or rent a car and enjoy the road trip of a lifetime.
