What you can expect

Explore the west coast of the “Emerald Isle” and journey to the province of Connacht. Its district of Connemara, one of the jewels in Ireland’s crown, boasts magnificent scenery and unspoiled terrain. Discover historical sights and traditional settlements on your day out from Dublin.

Take the train out of Dublin and speed across the country towards Galway and its picturesque bay. Here, board the coach for the drive into Connemara, which means “inlets of the sea.” Wonder at the awe-inspiring countryside as you head to Leenane, which is perched at the head of one of Ireland’s only fjords — Killary Harbour.

Continue to Kylemore Abbey and see how the Benedictine community has restored it to a self-sustaining entity. Enjoy some free time over lunch as you marvel at the view over the Twelve Bens mountains to the south. Return to Galway and take some time to soak up its cultural heritage before hopping back on the train for your return journey to Dublin.
