Activity itinerary

Inverness
  • 20m
Our epic adventure begins in Inverness, the capital of the Scottish Highlands. As we head out of the city I will immerse you in local folklore, suggest other places to visit during your stay and make suggestions about where you can discover the very best food, drink and entertainment that Inverness has to offer.
Loch Ness Region
  • 40m
First we are off to Loch Ness and to meet the hairy cows … not only will you get to meet and photograph them, I will also enhance the experience by bringing carrots so you can feed them. A unique bucket list experience for many people. You will hear all the stories of the worlds most famous Loch and see the scenery change dramatically as we head out to Skye.
Glenmoriston
  • 1h
We then head out west through spectacular glens, historical battlefields and ancient crofting communities, where I will weave fascinating stories and personally curated historical narratives into the fabric of your journey that help your understand the rich cultural heritage that saturates every corner of this land. I have also put together a soundtrack for this tour that helps you form an ethereal connection between the music and the landscape. There are further spectacular photo opportunities alongside Loch Cluanie, I will also take you to a place where if we are lucky we will hopefully get to photograph some wild deer.
Chocolates of Glenshiel
  • 30m
We will stop for a short coffee break at an award winning chocolatier, you can even watch the chocolate being made on certain days through a viewing window.
Eilean Donan Castle
  • 15m
We make a quick stop at Eilean Donan Castle to capture that iconic shot, it was voted one of instagrams most photographed castles in 2023. We DO NOT visit this castle on this tour due to time restraints needed for hiking, however this is flexible so if the group all agrees we can adjust the schedule to spend longer here.
Skye Bridge
  • 15m
It's just a 15 minute journey from here to the Skye Bridge, this is a particularly iconic moment for fans of the tv show 'Outlander' as we cross 'over the sea to Skye'. There is an alternative route to Skye via the worlds only working turntable ferry (Apr to Oct only). This is a much less travelled path with spectacular viewpoints along the way and a seal colony, however it is a longer route and requires more time. If you are interested in this option please mention after booking or on the day and we can adjust the itinerary to suit.
Broadford
  • 15m
We make a short stop here to visit a little known location that is the conclusion to one of the stories I will tell you on the way to Skye. You will also get the opportunity to sample one of Skye's most famous drinks ;)
Sligachan Old Bridge
  • 30m
Sligachan Old Bridge is the first of the Isle of Skye’s many otherworldly locations and the setting for my trademark bridge photo taken on my drone, get ready to strike a pose! You will also get the opportunity here to immerse yourself in a famous fairy legend :)
Portree Harbour
  • 1h
Portree is known as the quaint capital of the island, here you can grab some photos of the picturesque harbour with its pastel coloured houses. You have the option to take a break for lunch here, alternatively if you prefer to stay on the go you can bring a packed lunch and we will travel on to an additional viewpoint and the Old Man of Storr for todays hike.
The Old Man of Storr
  • 2h
HIKE: rated easy to moderate. The jewel in the crown of this tour as we hike right up to 'the Old Man of Storr'. This iconic towering landmark on the Isle of Skye is a spectacular 160 ft volcanic plug left behind after massive landslides swept the rest of the hillside away. It’s a steady climb and the rewards are magnificent. 'The Old Man of Storr' is just one element in an array of fantastic geological features located between the Trotternish Ridge and the sea. Awe inspiring and much photographed, you will without doubt feel like you have walked onto the film set of ‘Lord of the Rings’.
Trotternish Ridge
  • 30m
The Trotternish Ridge is the longest of its type in the UK as we travel on its most northerly point near Staffin to visit 'the Quiriang'. En-route theres time for a quick stop at Scotlands most famous waterfall 'Kilt Rock'.
Kilt Rock
  • 15m
'Kilt Rock' is a spectacular waterfall located between 'the Old Man of Storr' and 'the Quiraing'. It is made up of colourful layers of basalt rock columns where the waterfall drops 90 metres onto the beach below. Sometimes on a wild day you can hear the cliffs whistle, so hold on to your hats!
Quiraing
  • 30m
As we leave 'Kilt Rock' we travel through Staffin on to a single track road to my favourite viewpoint on Skye 'the Quiraing'. Stand in awe at iconic, beautiful and dramatic views that will stay with you forever, its everything you will have seen in the photos that made you want to visit Skye in the first place. A photographers and hikers dream, I could stay here forever!
Trotternish Ridge
  • 1h 15m
'The Quiraing' is the furthest point we can travel on a 1 day tour so its time to take a well earned rest as we travel back to Broadford for refreshments. On the way back I will tell you more about the island, other stunning locations, the best accommodation, food, drink and hiking opportunities that Skye has to offer if you are hoping to return for a longer adventure one day in the future.
Broadford
  • 15m
A quick stop to grab tea or coffee and browse the gift shop before we return to Inverness.
Inverness
  • 2h
Sit back, relax, enjoy yet more stunning scenery and music, or maybe get editing all of your photos as we return to Inverness
