This tour is amazing for people who want to experience everything Vancouver Island has to offer, in a short period of time without having to rent a car.
From waterfalls to beaches, hiking, caves and old-growth forests, this tour has ALL the land-based activities and vistas you can dream of.
Our guides are amazing at making you feel comfortable the whole duration of the trip. They are super knowledgeable about our Environment and history and can also share the best place for Happy Hour.
The camping portion of this trip does include power on site and the campsite does have coin showers if you wish to use them. You will be sleeping in a yurt-style tent in a comfy camp bed after an amazing dinner and bonfire with smore's!

Day 1: Wild West Coast
  • 3 stops

Sombrio Beach
  • 1h 30m
Sombrio is an amazing, unique, rocky beach with awesome hidden features. We will walk on the rocks to a hidden canyon leading to a waterfall and then walk through a sea caves to come out to an amazing viewpoint on the ocean.
Botanical Beach Provincial Park
  • 1h 30m
Visiting Botanical Beach or Big Wave Beach is like a visit to the aquarium but much more spectacular. We will hike the loop from the sandstone wave, passing by and admiring the crystal clear tide pools, teaming with marine wildlife. We will see mussels, barnacles, chitons, urchins, anemones, crabs and so many more colourful creatures. We even see Grey WHALES from shore sometimes! Then back on the trail, wander through wind battered uniquely twisted trees back to the car for our next adventure.

Have you step through the Old Growth Rainforest? This grove of impressively large Western Cedars, towering above 90m, older than 1000 years old and wider than 4m is sure to leave a lasting impression. The forest we will be visiting on this trip is truly unique and an endangered ecosystem. Your guide will be able to tell you all about the native ecosystem of this Coastal Temperate Rainforest and will also make sure you get an awesome photo with the Gnarliest Tree in Canada!
Day 2: East Coast Wandering

Ammonite Falls

This stunning waterfall is raging in spring and fall but in the summer, the stream dries up enough to reveal the bottom of the creek, it's sandstone pools and fossil covered bed. This hike through managed forest and swampy areas is strikingly different from the old growth we would have seen in Port Renfrew and your guide will give you some awesome facts about Forestry in BC along the way! This hike has a few uphills and sets of stairs but nothing too exhausting or technical.
Cathedral Grove

One last visit to the Old Growth for this trip. This time we will be entering a magical grove of giant and ancient Douglas-Firs. A completely different environment but stunning and awe inspiring none the less. Fun Fact: This location was used for the set of the planet Endor in Star Wars; Return of the Jedi.
Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park

Enter the amazing underground world of Horne Lake Caves. This guided tour is such an amazing experience where you will face as much challenge as you would like to experience and a world of wonder that will make you feel like you are on a different planet. The calcite formation inside the caves are truly breath taking and will surely leave an impression.
