Betty's Bay

We depart from Cape Town at 8am and travel along the very scenery Whale Coast until we reach Betty's bay where we see a huge population of the very rare African Penguins. Here we see the African Penguins. Betty's Bay is a small coastal town located in the Western Cape province of South Africa. It is home to a colony of African Penguins, also known as Jackass Penguins, which are the only penguin species found on the African continent. Betty’s Bay is also known as Stony Point Penguin Colony. There is a huge population of the African Penguin. The penguins can be seen up close as they waddle around, swim in the nearby ocean, and nest in the shelter of the surrounding vegetation.
Hermanus

From Betty's Bay we proceed to Hermanus which is half an hour away. Hermanus, known as the world capital for whale watching is a beautiful coastal town. We take a brief tour of Hermanus and its beaches. It is quite possible we could spot some whales if its in season. Hermanus is a seaside town in the Western Cape province of South Africa, known for its stunning natural beauty, whale watching, and charming small-town atmosphere. Hermanus is known as one of the best places in the world for land-based whale watching. Southern right whales visit the town's shores from June to December each year, and visitors can see these majestic creatures from the cliffs and beaches in and around the town.
Knysna

From Hermanus we embark on a 4 hour drive passing the towns of Swellendam, Mossel Bay and Wilderness en-route to Knysna. Knysna is the centre of the Garden Route and this is where we base ourselves for the 3 nights. Knysna is situated between lush forests and the beautiful Knysna lagoon, which opens up to the Indian Ocean. Knysna is home to many attractions such as the Knysna Heads, a set of two cliffs that flank the entrance to the lagoon. There are many outdoor activities available in Knysna, such as hiking, kayaking, fishing, and cycling.
Day 2: Day 2 is wildlife day. We travel 3 hours to Addo National Park for a self drive game drive.

Addo Elephant National Park

We depart from Knysna after an early breakfast to travel 3 hours to Addo Elephant National Park for a self drive game drive in search of Africa's Big 5, elephants, rhino, cheetah, lion and buffalo and many many more animals. Addo Elephant Park is a national park located in the Eastern Cape region of South Africa. It was established in 1931 to protect the last remaining 11 elephants in the area, and has since grown to be one of the largest national parks in South Africa, covering an area of over 1,600 square kilometres.
Bloukrans Bridge

After breakfast we travel to Plettenberg Bay which is 30minutes away. We do a brief tour of Plettenberg Bay and the beaches. Plettenberg Bay is a beautiful coastal town located along the Garden Route of South Africa. It is known for its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and lush green forests. The town offers a wide range of outdoor activities such as hiking, surfing, and whale watching, making it a popular destination for adventure seekers and nature lovers. Still in Plettenberg Bay, we visit the most beautiful Robberg Nature Reserve with its excellent hiking facilities. Here we relax and go hiking, from simple to some pretty challenging hikes. Robberg Nature Reserve is a stunning coastal reserve located in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa. It covers an area of approximately 600 hectares and is renowned for its rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, and diverse marine and terrestrial wildlife. The reserve is home to a wide range of animals, including Cape fur seals, dolphins, whales, and various bird species. Robberg Nature Reserve is also a popular destination for hiking, with several well-marked trails that offer breathtaking views of the coastline and the surrounding landscape.
Knysna Heads

From Robberg Nature Reserve we head back to Knysna. We go to the Knysna Heads with its stunning views of Knysna and great opportunities for photographs. Knysna Heads refers to two large cliffs that guard the entrance to the Knysna Lagoon, a popular tourist destination in the Western Cape province of South Africa. These cliffs are located on either side of a narrow channel that connects the lagoon to the Indian Ocean. The eastern head is a publicly accessible nature reserve that offers scenic viewpoints, hiking trails, and picnic areas. The western head is a private nature reserve that is not open to the public. The area around Knysna Heads is known for its rich biodiversity and is home to a variety of bird species, marine life, and vegetation. Visitors can enjoy activities such as boating, fishing, and kayaking in the lagoon, or explore nearby attractions such as the Knysna Elephant Park and the Knysna Forest.
The Waterfront Knysna Quays

We end this relaxing day at the Waterfront Knysna Quays. Breathtaking views of Knysna, crystal blue waters and and and. There really are no words to describe how stunning the views are. The Waterfront is a chilled out extension of Knysna. A scenic view of the harbour with quite a number of yachts make it a scenery. A good number of restaurants from cafes to great restaurants, one can easily spend 2-3 hours here, you can also book some rides on the lagoon. We watch the sun set and the most beautiful views.
Day 4: Travel back to Cape Town. Stop over at Benguela Cove Wine Estate for a world class wine tasting experience
