Our next stop where we break for lunch is Port Edward. Situated 150 kilometres south of Durban on the edge of the mighty Indian Ocean and amid the lush rolling of hills of Southern Kwa Zulu Natal, the Port Edward Holiday Resort is the ultimate holiday destination. Port St Johns

From Port Edward we drive in land where we experience the traditional Xhosa African villages driving past African centres Bizana and Lusisiki. We arrive in Port St Johns in late afternoon where we spend the night. Port St. Johns is a town of about 6,500 people on the Wild Coast in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. It is situated at the mouth of the Umzimvubu River, 220 kilometres northeast of East London and 70 kilometres east of Mthatha.
Day 2: On day 2 we depart at 9am for East London, going past Mthatha and Butterworth, but first we visit Silaka Nature Reserve

On day 2 depart from Port St Johns at 9am and drive to Silaka Nature Reserve. Silaka Nature Reserve covers a total of 400ha, featuring grassland and magnificent indigenous coastal forests along a dramatic piece of coastline. This beautiful coastal reserve lies in a forested valley south of Port St Johns and stretches from Second Beach to Sugarloaf Rock.
East London

East London is a city on the Indian Ocean, in South Africa’s Eastern Cape. It is known for its beaches, such as Nahoon and Cove Rock. We visit one of these beaches and then spend the night in East London.

Port Alfred

From East London, we stop over for lunch in Port Alfred. Port Alfred, with its stretches of sandy beach that extend for miles, lies on the banks of the Kowie River. Port Alfred was established by a group of English settlers in the early 1800s and, although now an active commercial and residential town, it has retained most of its English fishing village feel.
Port Elizabeth

From Port Alfred we travel to Port Elizabeth for the night. Port Elizabeth is a city on Algoa Bay in South Africa's Eastern Cape Province. A major port, it's also known for its numerous beaches. The Donkin Heritage Trail takes in the Old Hill neighbourhood's Victorian landmarks. Coastal boat tours spot whales and rare seabirds, while wildlife reserves outside the metropolitan area are home to elephants, rhinos and other big game.
Day 4: Port Elizabeth to Plettenberg Bay via Tsitsikama National Park

Storms River Bridge (Paul Sauer Bridge)

On day 4 we depart from Port Elizabeth at 9am and travel to Storms River Bridge. At Storms River Bridge we stop over to watch some bunggy jumping. Bloukrans Bridge Bungy is one of the world's highest commercial bungy jumping sites at 216 metres above the Bloukrans River. Here, you have an opportunity to do the bunggy jump (optional extra).
Plettenberg Bay

From Storms River Bridge we then travel to Plettenberg Bay for the night. Plettenberg Bay is a seaside town on the Garden Route in South Africa’s Western Cape Province. The sandy Central Beach and Lookout Beach both have surf breaks. To the south, Robberg Nature Reserve is a rocky peninsula with trails and the Stone Age Nelson Bay Caves. Northeast are Birds of Eden, a free-flight bird sanctuary in indigenous forest, and an elephant sanctuary. Whales come near the coast in migration season.
Day 5: Plettenberg Bay to Knysna

Beaches include Voëlklip Beach and the broad Grotto Beach, overlooking Walker Bay. The Old Harbour Museum is a site encompassing the old harbour, a fishermen’s village and the Whale House Museum. The latter has informative displays and a suspended skeleton of a whale. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon in Hermanus visit your desired areas of interest.
