Day 1: Xian City Day Tour

Get picked up by guide from Xian Airport or Train Station. Please note your flight should arrive before 12:00 at least, or the time will not be enough to visit the following attractions)

Firstly, you will visit Shaanxi History Museum. As Xi’an (called Chang’an) in ancient time was the capital city of more than 13 dynasties, although its name is Shaanxi History Museum, it actually collects a large of treasures throughout the whole country in the past thousands of years.

Stop At: Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayanta), Enci Temple The southern part of Yata Road, Yanta District, Xi'an 710061 China
Next, head to Big Wild Goose Pagoda that built in Tang Dynasty 652 A.D. for the purpose of preserving the Buddhist sculptures brought from India to Chang'an (old name of Xian) by XuanZang. With tour guide's explanation to its background, you will get a better idea about religious, political and cultural life of that great dynasty.

Stop At: Small Goose Pagoda, No.72 Youyi Road, Beilin District, Xi'an 710068 China
Finally you will visit Small Wild Goose Pagoda which is the twin of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Both the two pagodas are important witnesses for the history of Great Tang Dynasty. Same as the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Small Wild Goose Pagoda was also built to store the Buddhist scriptures brought from Ancient India by the master monk Xuanzang in the Tang Dynasty. Different from the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Small Wild Goose Pagoda attracts visitors with its special charms that it keeps quiet and peaceful in the bustling city centre area, has precious value on architecture and Chinese garden aesthetics. (For people arrival in the morning by flight, if time is not enough, you will skip Small Wild Goose Pagoda).

Day 2: Xian Terracotta Warriors Day Tour
Stop At: The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses, Qinling North Road, Lintong District, Xi'an 710600 China
Meet your guide still at your hotel lobby and then drive about 50 mins to Terracotta Warriors Museum, the Mausoleum of Emperor Qin Shihuang who is the first emperor of the Qin dynasty. When he ascended to the throne at the tender age of 13, he ordered 720,000 conscript labourers to build him a royal tomb. It took about 38 years to finish, and was so magnificent that it set a precedent for future feudal rulers. Little compares to his army of Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Wander the gallery to marvel at some 8,000 life-size sculptures of men and horses of the Emperor’s funerary art. Amazingly, each one has unique features.

After the lunch, board the car and then go back to city centre area to visit City Wall, the largest and best-preserved ancient city wall in China. It served as the military defensive system in the ancient time which can be traced back to Tang Dynasty. You can optionally choose to explore the City Wall by foot or riding a bike.

Finally, pay a leisure visit to Bell & Drum Tower Square which is the centre of Xian city and Muslim Quarter, the paradise for foodies, where you will find many local snacks and interesting handy crafts.

Day 3: Xian-Lhasa by flight
Stop At: Lhasa, Lhasa, Tibet
In the morning, Xian local driver will meet you at your hotel and then transfer you to airport for the flight to Lhasa. Upon your arrival at Lhasa, you will be greeted by local guide and driver at exit of arrival hall and transfer you to your hotel.
Please have a good rest and get yourself relaxed to better get used to the high altitude.

Day 4: Lhasa Highlight Day Tour

Meet your Lhasa tour guide at hotel lobby around 9am and then start your exploration on this land from the world famous Potala Palace. It is the shrine for all pilgrims as a great representation of Tibet. People come here would be feasted from both sense organ and inner soul by its magnificent physical construction and collections as well as its significant religious, politic and cultural sense to this vast highland.

Next, come to visit Jokhang Temple, located in the centre of the old Lhasa City and considered as a holy place not only from geographical location but also from the belief of the Tibet Buddhists. Both Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple was built by Songtsen Gampo, however Potala Palace has born more politic meaning while Jokhang Temple more religious meaning.

Finally you will pay a visit to the Bakhor Street, lso called Bajiao Street, is a famous turning scripture path and business centre in Lhasa, conserving well the traditional appearance and living custom of the ancient Lhasa. Enrolled on the list of “Ten National Historical and Cultural Street”, Barkhor Street is considered as one of most charming and special street nationwide, miniaturising the history development of Tibet.
Finally, you will be transferred back to your hotel for rest.

Day 5: Lhasa Monastery Day Tour
Stop At: Drepung Monastery (Zhebang Si), Southern Slope of Genpeiwuzi Mountain, Chengguan District, Lhasa 850000 China
Today you will go to explore more interesting place of Lhasa. After the same pickup as yesterday, you will come to Drepung Monastery with tour guide firstly. It is one of the Six Great Monasteries of Gulug(Yellow Hat) in Tibet, and shares the fame of the Three Great Monasteries in Lhasa with Sera Monastery and Ganden Monastery. It locates at south side of Gebeiwoze Mountain, 10km east of west suburban of Lhasa city. The ordered architectures in white was built against the Gebeiwoze Mountain and fully occupied the hillside, seeming a huge rice dump, hence the name of “Drepung” which means collected rice in Tibetan language and represents the prosperity of Tibetan.

The second site today you will visit is the famous Sera Monastery which is the second largest monastery in Tibet. Sera Monastery was built in the Ming Dynasty by the famous Sagya Yeshes who was one of the eight disciples of Zongkapa and given the title of the Great Mercy Dharma by Emperor Xuanzong of Ming Dynasty after he had an audience with the Emperor in 1409 and 1414. The debate about Buddhism of Sera Monastery earns its fame in the Tibetan region, which is always taken a necessary activity to see for travellers from the whole world.

Stop At: Norbulingka (Precious Stone Garden), No.21 Luobulinka Road, Chengguan District, Lhasa 850000 China
Finally, you will go to Norbulingka was firstly built in 1740s, the time of the 7th Dalai Lama and experienced about 200 years’ construction until the time of 14th Dalai Lama. On the list National Relic Protection Units, the Norbulingka situated at the western suburban of Lhasa for over 200 years. It is a typical Tibetan style garden occupied 360 thousands m², used as the place for the Dalai Lamas to live and deal with the daily political affairs.
After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 6: Yamdroktso Lake Day Tour
Stop At: Yamdrok Lake, Shannan, China
Meet your guide and driver in the morning and then drive to the famous Yamdroktso Lake. It is famed as “the Most Beautiful Lake in the World” with the literal meaning as “the above coral twig” and the holy moral in Tibetan’s heart as “the Scattered Kallaite Earrings of Fairy” as it couldn’t be got its full perspective by visitors on the ground. There are three other lakes creeping on the earth with Yamdorktso Lake, connecting each other together and consisting of an endless holy lake beyond our horizon—the beautiful body of the lake on this land is more than 130km long. When looking it from map or sky, you will surprisingly the lake embedded in this land, glittering like an earring under the sunshine at different time.

After visit at the Lake, you will be transferred back to Lhasa city. On the return way, you have pay a visit to local Tibetan family to experience the local culture and customer closely.
