Kok-Moinok Canyon is located 160 km east of Bishkek, in the vicinity of the village of the same name in the floodplain of the Chu River. The eastern ridges of the Kyrgyz Alatoo Range cut into the vast valley of the Western Priissykkulja.
This canyon is one of 4 canyons lying on the way from Bishkek to Karakol along the Chu River and further along the southern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul.
Kok-Moinok Canyon is a clay-sand structures formed on the slopes of arid mountains cut by water streams. Unique structures, all sorts of ledges, platforms and terraces formed under the influence of precipitation and wind create the atmosphere of an alien city.
