What you can expect

Take a guided tour of Ariccia, a town rich in architectural beauty and art, and famous for its roasted pork, porchetta. You’ll explore highlights such as the Piazza di Corte square, the church of Santa Maria Assunta, and of course, have a chance to try the delicious porchetta for yourself.
Start the tour with a view of the Ariccia bridge over Chigi Park, a monumental bridge designed to connect the town centre with the valley. One of the most spectacular monuments in Ariccia, it was built in the mid-19th century and rebuilt after damage in World War II.
Close to this is the Palazzo Chigi, a seventeenth-century Baroque residence that was restored by the famous architect Gian Lorenzo Bernini, who enriched it with ancient furnishings, paintings, and sculptures.
The guided tour continues to the main square of the city, Piazza di Corte or Piazza della Repubblica, also designed by Bernini. Here you’ll see the unique collegiate church of Santa Maria Assunta. This beautiful church, built in the 17th century, stands between the Casino del governatore and the Casino del Minister, connected by elegant arcades that give length and harmony to the complex. You’ll then proceed into the church to admire the dome, reminiscent of the Pantheon in Rome.
It’s then time to explore the characteristic alleys, where you can purchase the famous porchetta, cold cuts, and sweet tarallini with wine – typical of Ariccia’s culinary tradition.
The guided tour ends at the panoramic viewpoint of Piazzale Mazzini, with a breathtaking view of the chestnut groves surrounding charming Ariccia.
