Explore the beautiful scenery of West Auckland on the Quintessential Wine Tour, 4 gorgeous vineyards with tastings at 3 included in the price. This Tour takes you over the Auckland Harbour Bridge and then west past forests and beaches into the wine country of Auckland. West Auckland was the hub of New Zealand's wine industry in the early 20th century, with many small vineyards owned by families of Croatian descent. These vineyards are still family-owned, with some now in their 5th generation, showing that winemaking truly runs in their blood.
Visit Westbrook Winery, one of New Zealand’s oldest and most respected boutique wineries. Then head to the Hunting Lodge for wine tasting and lunch. This storey begins in Croatia, with the renowned wine-making Ivicevich family planting their first grapevines and starting to create a name for themselves in Waimauku (West Auckland) Their success and reputation followed them as they moved to New Zealand in 1935, establishing the Sunnyvale vineyard in West Auckland and the Waimauku property. Here, you will taste wines and enjoy the beautiful views of the vineyard and surrounding areas. This vineyard is very much on the border of the Riverhead Forest, just stunning views.
