Visit the Trabi Museum at Checkpoint Charlie and learn all about the history of these famous two-strokers. The “Rennpappe” went into production in 1958 at the VEB Automobilwerk Zwickau and is the most famous vehicle of the former GDR.
See different stages of development of the peoples' car of the former GDR, as well as different uses of the vehicle, such as the camping Trabis and military vehicles. Rarities such as the Trabant P70 with a wooden undercarriage or the fastest Trabi are also on display; an exciting short film is shown in the theatre.
You can even get behind the wheel of a Trabi and go on a Trabi Safari, through the East or West, along the former wall, or any route you choose.
