Central Market Kuala Lumpur Central Market started off as a humble wet market in the heart of the city centre back in the 1940s. Malaysia icon Twin Towers Petronas Twin Towers were once the tallest buildings in the world. Now the world’s tallest twin structures, the 88-storey buildings were designed by Cesar Pelli & Associates with both towers joined at the 41st and 42nd floors (175m above street level) by a 58 meter-long, double-decker Sky Bridge. Standing 452 metres tall, the Petronas Twin Towers retained its world-title claim to fame until 2004 when Taipei's 101 was built, measuring 508 metres tall. Today, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai (opened in 2010) retains the spot as the world’s tallest building. Located in the KL city Centre, the Petronas Twin Towers’ architecture is Islamic-inspired and the buildings primarily house the corporate headquarters of the Petronas Company and other offices.

Istana Negara (Kings Palace) The Istana Negara is the official residence of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the monarch of Malaysia. It is located along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim in Segambut, northwestern Kuala Lumpur. The palace opened in 2011 and replaced the old Istana Negara which was located at a different compound in central Kuala Lumpur.

Merdeka Square Merdeka Square is undoubtedly KL’s best known landmark. Also called Dataran Merdeka, it is set in front of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building (the former State Secretariat). Directly in front is the Royal Selangor Club and to the north is St. Mary’s Church, one of Malaysia’s oldest Anglican churches. Within the colonial core of Kuala Lumpur, where the remnants of the British empire are especially evident, Merdeka Square seems to be nothing more than a giant field with perfectly manicured green lawns and a centrepiece of the tallest flagpole in the world (95m) proudly displaying the Jalur Gemilang (Malaysian flag). At the corner of Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman and Jalan Raja Laut, Merdeka Square is made up of a padang (field) that was once the Selangor Club cricket pitch.

Heritage Boah Tea Factory BOH Plantations Sdn Bhd (doing business as Boh) is the largest black tea manufacturer in Malaysia, with both domestic and international distribution owned by BOH Plantations Sdn Bhd. The BOH Tea Plantation, which is located at Cameron Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia, is also the largest tea plantation in Malaysia. BOH Plantations was founded in 1929 by J. A. Russell, a British-born British-educated businessman during the British colonial era in Malaya. Russell arrived in Kuala Lumpur at age seven, in 1890; the primary export was then tin. Prior to BOH, Russell had worked in the Straits Trading Company, learning to speak several Chinese dialects (along with Malay) and made contacts with wealthy Chinese tin miners. Besides investing in tin, Russell and his brothers (Philip, Donald, and Robert) invested in the nascent rubber industry in 1908. J. A. and Philip also invested in railway-related construction, including the new when Kuala Lumpur railway station.

Cameron Highland to Ipoh Overland After Breakfast Leaving Cameron Highlands behind, you travel into Perak State, famous for its tin mines, cave temples and royal palaces. Near Ipoh, you will visit the Kek Lok Toong Cave Temple, famous Cave Temple to learn about the Buddhist, Taoist and Confucianism believes. We will make a stop at Ipoh Town for lunch at the local famous coffee shop – Kong Heng Coffee Shop. All the locals will definitely visit to this coffee shop to taste the local dishes. Sometimes you will need to wait for 30 minutes in order to get a seat! Once firmly ensconced in your plastic stool, order your Ipoh White Coffee and let your eye wonder over the stalls, serving a variety of food including asam laksa (tamarind fish soup noodles), popiah (spring rolls) and the famous Ipoh Hor Fun (silky flat rice noodles in a clear broth with shredded chicken and juicy prawns to garnish).

Chew Jetty The Clan Jetties of George Town only came about in the late 19th century. Part of the heritage trail, the clan jetties are a unique sight to witness as you walk through a wooden path on stilts with wooden houses beside you that are still inhabited by the locals till today. After the construction of the Quay in 1882, the waterfront was developed with short public landing stages or jetties. Settlements grew on these foundations and they were used for the loading and unloading of goods and for the mooring of sampans (boats). Gradually, each jetty became identified and dominated by certain clans and over time more huts sprung up. Be awed by the experience of going through a village atmosphere in the heart of the city. Walk through this quaint village made of wooden houses built on top of wooden stilts. Since Penang lost its free port status, most inhabitants here now dwell in many different trades.

Explore Penang Hill by Train Penang Hill is a hill resort comprising a group of peaks on Penang Island, Malaysia. It is located in Air Itam, 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) west of the city Centre of George Town. Penang Hill is also known by the Malay name Bukit Bendera, which actually refers to Flagstaff Hill, the most developed peak. Penang Hill covers a number of hills, with the highest point at Western Hill which is 833 metres (2,733 ft) above sea level. The hill stands out prominently from the lowlands as a hilly and forested area. It was used as a retreat during the British colonial period, and is now a popular tourist destination in Penang. The top of the hill is accessible via the Penang Hill Railway from its base station at Jalan Bukit Bendera, Air Itam. To date, this funicular railway system is the only one of its kind in Malaysia, transporting over a million visitors to the peak of Penang Hill as of 2014.

Located in George Town’s picturesque old city centre, the market is still very accessible to visitors whilst retaining its very local characteristics. Kek Lok Si Temple The Kek Lok Si Temple is a Buddhist temple situated in Air Itam, Penang, Malaysia. It is the largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia, and is also an important pilgrimage centre for Buddhists from Hong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore and other countries in Southeast Asia. The entire complex of temples was built over a period from 1890–1930, an inspirational initiative of Beow Lean, the Abbot. The main draw in the complex is the striking seven-story Pagoda of Rama VI (Pagoda of Ten Thousand Buddhas) with 10,000 alabaster and bronze statues of Buddha, and the 36.57 metres (120.0 ft) tall bronze statue of Kuan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy. Mahayana Buddhism, Theravada Buddhism and traditional Chinese rituals blend into a harmonious whole, both in the temple architecture and artwork as well as in the daily activities of worshippers.
