The guided tour of the archaeological park of Cefalù will make you discover an important naturalistic and historical area because it preserves the archaeological remains combined with the charm and naturalistic beauty of the Park.
Starting from the town of Cefalù, on a trekking route we head towards the promontory which has an altitude of 270 metres above sea level and we enter the naturalistic and archaeological park of the Rocca di Cefalù.
The ascent to the Rocca, through a fortified medieval path, offers the visitor many postcard views and culminates in a spectacular panoramic point from which it is possible to appreciate the view of Cefalù over the sea.
The fortress houses several monuments of Byzantine origin, the population in the past centuries took advantage of its position to take refuge from enemy attacks.
You will visit the remains of the Temple of Diana, full of legends and mysteries about its construction appears as a fortress sanctuary: the realisation similar to a fortress and the ideal position to control those arriving from the sea and is a sacred building linked to the cult of water.
