Overview

The Cheorwon DMZ tour will visit several places, including the Labour Party Building, the 2nd Tunnel, the Battlefield of the White Horse Hill, and the Peace Observatory. The Labour Party building was actually used by North Korea in the past, and there are lots of marks of bullets during the Korean War, so you can feel the vividness of the war. The second tunnel is a tunnel dug by the North Korean military to sneak into the South and is always full of tension. So, there are some days that people can't visit due to the national security situation. The Battlefield of the White Horse Hill is the place where the fiercest battle took place in the Korean War, and there are still many remains that have not been found.

Goseokjeong Pavilion

Goseokjeong Pavilion is the most scenic spots among the eight scenic views of Cheorwon. It is also the starting point for DMZ tours as the Iron Triangle Battlefield Conservation Office is located here.
Cheorwon Peace Observatory

Cheorwon Peace Observatory offers a panoramic view of the DMZ (Demilitarised Zone separating North and South Korea) in the central forward area of Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do.
The 2nd Tunnel

Located in the DMZ on the military demarcation line, this tunnel was discovered by Korean guards who heard the sounds of explosions beneath the ground while on duty, leading to an investigation using advanced drilling equipment. The tunnel is carved through a robust granitic layer and stretches 3.5km in length, situated between 50m and 160m underground. Currently, this second tunnel has been transformed into a security tourism site.
Woljeongri Station

Woljeong-ri Station (Iron Triangle Battlefield) is the last stop before reaching the DMZ. Located at the spot where the fiercest battle was held during the Korean War, this train marks the partition line of the Korean peninsula.

***The labour party building cannot be entered due to the maintenance project, and the project will be last until the end of 2024*** This three-story building located in Cheorwon-eup was constructed in 1946. Used as the headquarters of the Labour Party until the break of the Korean War on June 25.
Baengmagoji Memorial

Memorial Tower of Baengmagoji Battlefield and Memorial Museum Located in the northern area of South Korea, Baengma Battlefield was one of the bloodiest battlefields during the Korean War.After the battle the area gave off a bad smell because of the dead bodies. The mountain area lost its original shape due to the severe battle and as a result the area was named “Baengmagoji” as it was said to resemble a white horse (Baengma) lying down.
