What you can expect

Cruise in definitive New Orleans-style aboard the Creole Queen. On this authentic paddle wheel boat, pass by the French Quarter's waterfront and then disembark to visit the site of the 1815 Battle of New Orleans in Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve.

Step onto the deck of the Creole Queen, a real 1850s-style paddle wheel boat, and begin your cruise along the muddy waters of the mighty Mississippi. Admire the colourful architecture of the historic French Quarter and the bustle of the Port of New Orleans, listening as your captain regales you with tales from the Big Easy's storied past.

When the boat pulls up to dock in Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, walk ashore to visit the site of the Battle of New Orleans—the final battle in the War of 1812. This combat spurred the complete withdrawal of British forces from Louisiana. Tour the Chalmette Battlefield and admire the beautifully restored Malus-Beauregard House, a stately 19th-century mansion that offers a glimpse of Southern culture in a bygone era.

Explore the grounds for a half-hour or so before boarding the Creole Queen for your return cruise down the river.
