What you can expect
Spend a day exploring the historic beaches of Normandy with a Private Guide who will bring the events of the D-Day to life. Discover the details of the Operation Overlord, which launched the successful Allied invasions on Nazi German-occupied Western Europe during World War II. Immerse yourself in the authentic stories of sacrifice, death and victory.
For your convenience, we provide pickup and drop-off to your accommodation in Paris and transfer between the sites. The first sight during the 13-hour tour will be Mémorial de Caen, in front of which you will see the iconic “Non-violence” sculpture of an oversized revolver with its muzzle tied in a knot. Next, you will travel to the Juno Beach Memorial to see an authentic WWII Churchill AVRE Tank and a monument commemorating the Canadian soldiers who landed on the beach on June 6 1944.
Travelling along the scenic seashore, you will see numerous memorials that keep the memory of the Battle of Normandy and its heroes alive, such as the remnants of one of the old artificial Mulberry harbour, the Memorial Royal Engineers and the D-Day 75 Garden. At Arromanches 360 Circular Cinema you will see real WWII footage that illustrates the sheer magnitude of the Allied invasion. We provide skip-the-line tickets for the film so that you can contemplate the emotional experience without having to wait in long lines with other tourists.
The next stop will be the preserved WWII coastal defences, Longues-sur-Mer battery, with huge gun installations built by the Germans to defend France from sea invasion. Further along the Omaha Beach you will visit the American Cemetery and Memorial - the Garden of the Missing. Here, you will discover the stories of the American heroes who fought for the liberalization of Western Europe. Along the now quiet beach you will see more monuments, sculptures and bunkers and have some free time for a lunch break or to sightsee on your own. The last stop will be the historic cliff known as Pointe du Hoc, where you will see German gun pits and bunkers pock marked from Allied fire.
