What you can expect

A picturesque old town with its 1200-year history offers a variety of sights. Historic townhouses, fountains, market gates, and much more to surprise and inspire you. Admire the heart of the old town, the town hall, first mentioned in the 15th century. During the 19th century, Dachau was one of the most important artist's colonies in Europe. The well-known author and editor Ludwig Thoma lived there for two years. Dachau is also known for its vicinity to the infamous Dachau concentration camp which was built by the Nazis in 1933.
