Overview

This practical tea workshop helps you become knowledgeable about the use of Japanese tea and incorporate it into your daily life.

After this new tea experience, you will be able to fully appreciate tea back home, whether it's a personal tea ritual, or having a fancy night out with tea cocktails.

・Brew tea like a master. Using tried and tested traditional techniques, with a Japanese iron kettle and locally sourced organic whole Japanese tea leaves.

・ Learn to make delicious tea drinks with fruit and syrup!

・ Get fancy with tea cocktails!

The workshop is mostly hands-on from brewing tea to making drinks. The techniques are derived from storied Japanese practices of brewing tea. The more modern practice of mixing tea with natural ingredients like fruit and alcohol infusions has all been tried and tested at our tea shop, gaining quite a large following.

We hope the knowledge and experience from our workshop will amplify your appreciation for the Land of the Rising Sun.

Activity itinerary

The workshop covers the modern and traditional use of Japanese tea, which includes green tea(sencha), Japanese black tea(wakocha), Japanese oolong tea, hojicha(roasted tea), and matcha. You will learn how to brew each tea properly with basic knowledge such as brewing temperatures, technique, and handling tools along with the discussion of history. Then, we will talk about the process involved in making each tea, and educate about the philosophy of Japanese tea culture, which has shaped the country as we know it today. Next, we will have a hands-on activity, where we apply the existing traditions with new techniques. Such as, making tea drinks with natural ingredients like fruit, and infusing it with alcohol. At the end of the workshop, you can take home the recipes and samples for drinks that you learn to make, so you can enjoy them, and experience the benefits of incorporating it into your daily life back home.
