The fairyland hidden in the limestone mountain protested by the tropical forests, Phong Nha has recently become a famous place thanks to the open-handedness of the Creator which bestowed this region a system of splendid grottos with the underground river determined as the longest one in the world.
Depart from Hue for a 2 and a half hour journey to Phong Nha Caves. On the way we stop to visit some of the most famous battle-fields from the Vietnam War, Ben Hai River and Hien Luong Bridge, which lie in the Demilitarised Zone of the Vietnam war. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before jumping on a boat and cruising along the river to Phong Nha Cave. The deeper one penetrates, the more magical are the natural aspects of the caves. After journeying by boat for another 700m, a large dry passage appears and you can hop off the boat onto dry ground to explore the cave on foot for another 500m. You will have a chance to explore the remains of Cham Altars and Inscriptions inside. Return to Hue in the late afternoon. See you off at your hotel in Hue.
