Learn all there is to know about gin and its unique distillation process on a Pickering's Gin Distillery tour at Summerhall in Edinburgh. Kick-start your tour with a delicious gin and tonic poured in style at the Royal Dick Bar, where you meet your guide
For the first part of the tour, head over to the Old Workshop and sit back comfortably in a chair, sipping on your gin and tonic. Hear about the many gin inventions that were born here and the storey of the distillery.
Then, make your way to the distillery. Meet and greet the distillers at work and possibly see Gertrude and Emily — the two stills – in steaming action.
To finish the tour in style, be walked through a tasting of four award-winning gin samples in the next room, where you can share your thoughts and feelings about your favourite drink with the group.
Head home with a complimentary miniature bottle of your favourite sample that you will seal-wax yourself before the tasting.
