Drive easterly along the coastline and enjoy the tell-tale signs of past times based on ancient monumental cut stone buildings that has withstand the ravishes of many natural disasters and is still gracing the town centre with the aura of the Georgian era. Also, see the remnants, relics and artefacts that presents a glaring reminder of our colourful past.

Port Maria was also an export harbour for the exportation of sugar, banana and citrus in the 1800s, but was destroyed by a series of hurricanes and in recent times has experience severe flooding due to its geographical location.

Stop at a roadside artisan for handmade pottery, a roadside food or fruit stand for a healthy snack, visit the parish library, the civic centre or enter the thick brick wall churches dated back to the 17th and 18th century and get a glimpse of our colonial past.

Then when the exploration is done, lunch with the locals in the town centre or at a pristine beach where you can take a swim or soak your feet in the warm turquoise Caribbean Sea.
