stroll around the market place with its magnificent town hall and many half-timbered houses. admire the exterior of the church of st. jakob and the “plönlein.” worth to mention is the german christmas museum and the medieval crime museum with its historical collection of objects relating to medieval law. a walk on the town wall is a must when visiting the highlight of the romantic road.
on the return journey to frankfurt am main, there is foto stop in würzburg at the residence, unesco world heritage and the offical starting and endpoint of the romantic road. take a view in the baroque court garden or the “hofkirche”, a elaborately decorated church. on the way back to frankfurt a glass of dry red wine will be served.
