Your Glenfinnan tour begins in the heart of Glasgow City Centre, departing the lively streets and heading north past Loch Lomond—the largest loch in Scotland. You'll travel through the stunning Trossachs National Park, often referred to as “the Highlands in Miniature,” a perfect introduction to the true Highlands further north.
We’ll stop for refreshments in Tyndrum before continuing to Glencoe, one of Scotland’s most iconic glens. You may recognise it from numerous films and TV shows, including Skyfall, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and Outlander.
From the haunting beauty of Glencoe, we journey to the Glenfinnan Viaduct, famously known as the “Harry Potter Bridge.” Surrounded by mountains along the shores of the breathtaking Loch Shiel, this site gained fame through its appearances in the Harry Potter films and is also known for the Jacobite Steam Train (the Hogwarts Express). Loch Shiel served as the setting for the 'Black Lake,' where you might spot a mischievous 'grindylow' below the surface. This stunning location also features scenes of Buckbeak's flight and moments from the Triwizard Tournament.
We’ll take time to appreciate the viaduct and capture some great photos before visiting the nearby Glenfinnan Monument, which commemorates the pivotal 1745 Jacobite Uprising.
Next, we travel along the banks of Loch Linnhe to Fort William, the Highland town located at the base of Britain’s tallest mountain, Ben Nevis. We’ll pause here for a lunch break and a chance to stretch your legs.
Afterwards, we begin our return journey to Glasgow, passing Loch Lomond and stopping for a coffee and photo opportunity. We’ll arrive back in the city centre by early evening.
