Travel up the famous Sani Pass and hike from village to village on this 4-day trek from Himeville to Lesotho. Marvel at the majestic mountain scenery, and see the impact of responsible tourism with an activity provider recognised for their groundbreaking approach to grassroots tourism.
After meeting in Himeville, set off in a 4x4 up the famous Sani Pass. Arrive at the base of the activity provider’s long-time Basotho partners and hiking guides after lunch on Day 1. Your hiking guide will choose the particular route based on weather conditions and your strength and fitness.
Then, begin your hike on the first afternoon. Carry the bare minimum of luggage in a large day pack as food and accommodation are provided by homesteads in various villages, spreading the benefits of tourism into remote communities. Hike for 3–4 hours on Day 1, then rest overnight.
Spend all of Days 2 and 3 hiking. Discover the second-highest road pass in Lesotho, traverse remote villages, and see the unique way of local life as you trek through fantastic mountainous landscapes.
Feel good that your tour price directly benefits a wide segment of the local community, preserving cultural dignity and ensuring fair remuneration for services rendered. Take a final 3–4 hour hike on the morning of Day 4 before returning to Himeville.
