The cogwheel railway travels to Europe’s highest railway station every day of the year. The view and adventure platform at 3454 metres above sea level unites in a place that fascinates people of the Alps: a majestic backdrop of ice, snow and rock with breathtaking far-sightedness. Once at the top, Icy air streams across your face, snow crunches under your feet, and the view nearly takes your breath away: on one side the view of the Mittelland up to the Vosges, on the other the Aletsch glacier, bordered by four thousand metre peaks. There are also great shops, restaurants and the Lindt Swiss Chocolate Heaven. The Jungfrau-Aletsch Region was chosen as the first Alpine UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site in 2001.
