What you can expect
This 3-day tour of Chitwan National Park from Kathmandu is a wonderful opportunity to explore the rich wildlife and diverse ecosystem of Nepal. Known for its diverse flora and fauna, including endangered species like the one-horned rhinoceros and the Bengal tiger, Chitwan National Park is the most visited national park of Nepal. Beside the national park, you will be experiencing the rich Tharu (and ethinic tribe of the terai region of Nepal) culture and visiting Elephant breeding centre as well as the Ghoriyal crocodile breeding centre.
Day 1: Kathmandu to Chitwan National Park
Boarding the tourist bus bound for Chitwan National Park, you will be driven through the scenic highway along side the Trishuli river. Upon arriving at Chitwan and checking in, you will be embarking on a village tour to experience the local Tharu culture and lifestyle , the indigenous inhabitants of the region. The day ends after a cultural programme featuring traditional Tharu dances and music.
Day 2: Jungle Safari and Wildlife Activities
After breakfast, you will be heading out for an exciting jungle safari adventure. You can choose between an elephant-back safari or a jeep safari, depending on your preference. Accompanied by experienced guides, explore the park's diverse habitats and keep an eye out for wildlife such as rhinoceros, deer, monkeys, and various bird species. Visit the elephant breeding centre to learn about these magnificent creatures and observe their daily activities. Enjoy a canoe ride along the Rapti River, where you can spot various aquatic birds and maybe even a crocodile. Experience a nature walk through the park's lush trails with a naturalist guide, who will provide insights into the flora and fauna of the region. In the evening, relax by the riverside and witness a stunning sunset over the park.
Day 3: Departure to Kathmandu or Pokhara (as per your choice)
After breakfast, Depart from Chitwan National Park and board the tourist bus back to Kathmandu or Pokhara, whichever you choose.
