The ancient capital of Thailand is located just 85km away, making it easy to explore on an Ayutthaya tour from Bangkok. - Dating back to 1350, the sites of Ayutthaya Historical Park are a must-visit for fans of history, architecture and religion. Thanks to your experienced tour guide, you’ll learn all about Buddhist history as we explore countless temples. - In the 18th century, much of Ayutthaya was destroyed by Burmese invaders, hence the structures are in various states of disrepair. Used as a summer residence for ancient Thai kings, the golden pagodas and serene pools make a great introduction to the region’s glorious past. - After arriving in Ayutthaya, we’ll have several hours to explore fascinating ancient religious sites including Wat Mahathat where a decapitated Buddha head sits nestled between ancient tree roots. We’ll also visit Wat Mongkol Borpit known for its enormous seated Buddha statue, then Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, the most holy and important complex of the ancient Thai capital. Finally, we’ll explore Wat Chaiwatthanaram, known for its towering stone chedis.
