What you can expect

Autumn head over heels for sea life during a full-day marine safari in the region lauded as the great white shark capital of the world. Cruise out in search of sharks, whales, penguins, seals, and a variety of seabirds on this mesmerising tour along South Africa's rugged Western Cape.

Depart Cape Town as the sun is casting its rosy glow over the city and head south towards Gansbaai. Revered for its dense population of great white sharks, this is the prime location to launch your wilderness excursion. Venture aboard a seaworthy vessel and navigate towards Dyer Island and Geyser Rock. Revel in the cool ocean spray and keep your eyes peeled for marine life.

With the tiller pointed towards Shark Alley, catch sight of Cape fur seals basking in the sunlight and African penguins parading towards the water. Look for endangered birds like African black oystercatchers and Cape cormorants. At Shark Alley, scan the surf for ominous fins—cluing you in to the massive predators darting beneath the waves.

Finally, savour a light lunch aboard the boat and check out a prime whale-watching destination. Stay on the lookout for playful humpbacks who delight in human interaction before motoring back to Gansbaai.
