Activity itinerary

Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri Park
  • 2h 10m
We are going to Imjingak Park from Seoul to do the DMZ tour. It takes about 70 minutes. Our first destination is Imjingak Park. When we get there, we will first buy a DMZ ticket and register our information to get permission and take some time to look around there. Imjingak Park is Korea's representative unification tourist site and it was built in 1972. Since then, various facilities have been built one after another, and it has taken on its current appearance. This park is located 7 km south of the MDL. And unlike JSA and DMZ, civilian like us can visit here without permission. For that reason, many locals and foreigners visit this place, and about 5 million people visit this place a year. You can see the Peace Bell, the Mangbedan Altar, the Bridge of Freedom. We are going to stay here for about 60 minutes.
The Third Tunnel
  • 1h 20m

First, we will watch about 8 minutes of video clips related to the DMZ in a theatre. After watching the video clip, we will have some time to look around the exhibition hall. We will go to the 3rd Tunnel which was dug by North Korea. In 1970, North Korea dug about 20 tunnels near the border to invade South Korea again. Among 20 tunnels, we have found 4 tunnels so far. Among them, four tunnels have been discovered so far. The 3rd tunnel was discovered in 1978. Among the 4 tunnels, the 3rd tunnel is the largest and the most threatening because it is the closest to Seoul. The distance from here to Seoul is only 52 km and about 30,000 armed North Korean soldiers can pass through this tunnel in about an hour. The total length of this infiltration tunnel is 1,635 metres. And the height and width of the tunnel are about 2m, but they are not constant. From the military demarcation line, it runs 1,200 metres into the north and 435 metres into the south.
