◼︎ GOLDEN PAVILION

This magnificent temple was originally built as a villa for the revered 14th Century shogun, Ashikaga Yoshimitsu. The Golden Pavilion, known as Kinkaku-ji is covered with real gold leaf. It is a Zen Buddhist temple located in northern Kyoto and it is one of the most famous landmarks in the country. The top two floors of the pavilion are covered with gold leaf, giving the structure its distinctive and stunning appearance.
