Jvari Church was built in the 6th century on the site where Saint Nino, a female evangelist who brought Christianity to Georgia, erected a wooden cross. The church was originally a small chapel, but it was later expanded and renovated several times over the centuries. The current structure is a mixture of styles, including Georgian, Armenian, and Byzantine, and features a unique four-apsed design.
