What you can expect

After meeting in front the Double Gate (Qosha Qala Qapisi) the Main gate of Baku Old City, our guide start to explain about the tour plan and general history of the Old City.

Stop at: House of Baku Khans. Accredited guide explain the history of Baku Khans and walk around the House with explanation.

Stop at: Museum of Ethnography and Archaeology. Here the guests are given information about the old and modern buildings.

Stop at: Multani Caravanserai. In this level of the tour covers the history medieval caravanserai life. Guest will be explained about trading of Silk Road, caravan destinations, number of historical caravanserais in Baku and generally in Azerbaijan.

Stop at: Maiden Tower. Guide will explain about the history of Maiden Tower and other protection and observation towers in Baku. Guests will have the chance to see the whole Caspian See and buildings around Old City on the top of the Maiden Tower. General duration in front of the Tower is 10 minutes with explanation and photo shoots. If the guests enter inside the Museum, duration will take about 30 minutes.

Stop at: St. Bartholomew Church. St. Bartholomew Church was built in 1892 at the expense of donations from the local Christian population on the site where the Apostle Bartholomew was believed to have been killed.

Stop at: Juma Mosque. Juma Mosque in Old City was built in XII century.

Stop at: Muhammad Mosque. Muhammad mosque was built in XI century.

Stop at: Aga Mikayil Public Bath House has been operating since XVIII century here. Guide will explain about the medieval Bath Houses called Hamam.

Stop at: Vahid Monument. Monument to Azerbaijani satiric poet Aliaga Vahid.

Stop at: Miniature Books. The Museum of Miniature Books, located within the old city - Icheri Sheher, is included in the Guinness Book of Records as the museum with the largest number of miniature books. The creator of the museum, Zarifa Salahova has amassed this unique collection over the past 30 years. The only museum of miniature books in the world opened its doors on April 2, 2002. Today, the museum holds a unique collection of over 5,600 books published in 66 countries around the world.

Stop at: Palace of the Shirvanshahs. The Palace of the Shirvanshahs is a 15th-century palace built by the Shirvanshahs and described by UNESCO as “one of the pearls of Azerbaijan's architecture”. It is located in Old City. Azerbaijan and, together with the Maiden Tower, forms an ensemble of historic monuments inscribed under the UNESCO World Heritage List of Historical Monuments.

Stop at: Quadrangular Tower. The tower was built in the 14th century and was an integral part of the fortress wall and the defensive fortifications in Baku. Construction was done to maintain the architecture and integrity of the fortress walls.
General tour duration with explanation, sightseeings and walking is 3 hours.
The tour is completed in front of the Double Gate where the tour started.
