This tour takes you to several sites in the surrounding of Vang Vieng and introduces the novice to the thrill of cave explorations. Plenty of opportunities to gain insight into the way of life of Lao people.
You will depart from your hotels in Vang Vieng. After travelling around 14 km to the north of Vang Vieng, you will visit the first cave of Tham Xang (Elephant Cave) situated on the opposite banks of the Nam Song. It is such an important Buddhist temple and owes its name to a noticeable limestone formation.
The nearby Tham Hoi cave (Snail cave) gyrates its way deep into the mountain. You will explore through numerous long corridors with magnificent limestone formations for around 45 minutes. Lying at the mouth of Tham Nam (Water cave) is another cool pool of spring water, an ideal place for a swim.

After that, you will trek 2km to the Hmong village of Phathao to take a journey passing through green rice paddy fields and fertile vegetable gardens. You’re your arrival there is transport to take you back to Vang Vieng.
