Gold, Gold, Gold! Alaska is known for oil and gold. Our guides are familiar with gold panning and the man who first discovered gold in July 1902, starting the Fairbanks Gold Rush. This monument is one of many treasures we are happy to share whenever possible with guests. Please remember we go where the clear skies are and not all guests have the same locations to visit. Here at Aurora in Alaska we go to the best cloud free location each night. One of our favourites stops along the way is the awe-inspiring and historical Alyeska Pipeline. Whenever possible our guides happily share our Alaskan history with oil and take guests up close and personal to the pipeline.
