This is an indigo dyeing experience using Indian indigo. Indigo dyeing has been deeply rooted in the lives of Japanese people. In the samurai era, it was favoured as an "auspicious colour," and in the Meiji era, it was praised overseas as "Japan Blue," and was a colour that symbolised Japan. Bring in about 200g of fabric, T-shirt, or other item you want to dye with indigo dye and dye it freely. (The weight of one T-shirt is approximately 200 grams.) Please note that the quality of the item you want to dye is limited to natural dyes such as cotton and linen. Items that can be dyed in the studio are also sold. Our staff will explain everything carefully, so beginners, children, and women can feel at ease! After the experience, you can take a break with a hot drink. If you do not have something to dye, you can purchase T-shirts or tote bags at the store. Please contact us in advance if you would like to buy something to dye at the store.
