Illumina will light up the skies with an all-new light and sound spectacle at Kingfisher Bay Resort. Using the surrounding native environment as an artistic platform, Illumina will tell the island’s storey in a modern, theatrical interpretation, immersing guests into the brilliance of K’gari and sharing stories about the incredible ecosystem that has been recognised on the World Heritage-list for over thirty years.

Start your getaway in style with a pre-night stay at Kingfisher Bay Resort. Relax on island time and enjoy full access to the resort facilities and experience the Illimina light show, in preparation for your two-day 4x4 tour in our air-conditioned 4x4 coach.

Led by your expert local guide, tick off all of the favourite K’gari locations including the crystal-clear depths of Lake McKenzie and the towering rainforest of Pile Valley. PLUS, uncover some of the destination’s equally spectacular hidden gems such as the emerald green oasis of Lake Wabby.

Day One:

• Your three-day adventure begins with your choice of ferry to Kingfisher Bay Resort, 9:00am, 1:00pm or 3:30pm. Courtesy transfers are available to/from the airport and select locations in Hervey Bay. Upon arrival, immerse yourself in a pre-night stay, making the most of the resort facilities. Check into accommodation (after 2:00 PM). Experience the magic of Illumina! Join us at the Maheno Bar for a meet and greet, starting at 7:00pm. The show will begin at 7:15pm.

Day Two:

• 7.00am: Breakfast at Sand & Wood restaurant.
• 9.00am: Check out of Standard Resort Hotel Room.
• 9.30am: Arrive at The Sunset Bar for a prompt departure.
• 9.45am: Depart Kingfisher Bay Resort and begin K’gari two-day tour.
• 5.30pm: Arrival and check in at K’gari Beach Resort.

Day Three:

• 7.00am: Breakfast at McKenzie’s on 75 restaurant.
• 8.00am: Tour resumes from outside reception.
• 5.00pm: Return ferry transfer back to the mainland.
• 5.50pm Arrival back at River Heads (with local courtesy drop-offs).

To ensure a smooth pickup and ferry transfer, please contact the K’gari Explorer Reservation Team at least two days before your tour and confirm the location and time. Infants under the age of one year are unable to travel on tours.
