For fans of the book and film, Trainspotting, this is the perfect tour for you. Even if you are not a fan you will still learn a lot on this tour. Growing up in Leith in the 1980's was pretty rough, mass unemployment and poverty had set in,and then heroin arrived on the streets. This tour will also look at why Leith was so badly affected by heroin, and why it is called Trainspotting. Trainspotting is still happening live, and we may see signs of it during the tour. Expect bad language and references to drugs and violence. The tour will start in the most salubrious part of Leith, the shore area and we will visit key locations and hear stories from the book and personal anecdotes from Paul your guide. We will slowly meander through Leith and the tour highlight is the end of the tour where we will visit the location of Trainspotting itself. The tour will start at the Navy Memorial next to the Malmaison Hotel in the Shore area, 1 Tower Place, Leith EH6 7BZ and finish at the bottom of Leith Walk and will last 2 hours.
